CHAP 8: Start of the story
At the dungeon, Miyata is excited to try magic. He tries to control the mana inside his body. It's hard to control, but it is fun. After a while, he is able to control his mana.
"Hehe! This time it will be fun. Gather mana in my hands and imagine a fireball. Then [Fireball]"
Then an orb-shaped of fire appears in his hand. Miyata then imagines lunching it forward. After it lands, it causes a small explosion, and the grass starts burning. After a while, the fire extinguishes, and the grass grows back.
"Yup! It is as expected of a classic spell. Now, then, let try Parallel Processing."
When Miyata tries Parallel Processing, the effect is consuming his mana at a crazy rate.
Luckily, he is constantly generating mana, and sucking mana from the dungeon. If not, he is afraid that he will be sucked dry in a matter of seconds. But with this effect, he will be able to have Great Sage support him in combat.
Imagine in a tense fight, when suddenly Miyata cast a spell in the opponent's blind angle. Or double casting a magic spell. He knows that it will be a game-changer.
Now he can feel the power of 'Constant Mana Recovery' And Great Sage. He takes out the Apprentice's Staff from the Inventory.
"It's your time to shine today. Hehe! Today, let kill that damm Vares that stops me from clearing the higher wave."
{Affirmative.}
Miyata then tries fighting with magic. With the effect of Parallel Processing, he can cast two Fireball spells simultaneously. Great Sage also modify the Fireball spell to max level. It also creates several kinds of Fire spells. Like Fire Arrow, Fire Bullet, Fire Whip, and so on.
Arriving at the 81st wave, Vares then walks out of the light. Miyata then waves his staff, and a row of Fire Arrows show up and shoot toward Vares.
With him under the effect of Parallel Processing. Miyata casts a lot of spells in a matter of seconds. And the Apprentice's Staff enhances the damage of the spells.
Then Vares starts getting hit by the Fire Arrows. He knows that Vares will survive, as he fought with him many times. But this will weaken him. Miyata then pulls out his sword and starts fighting in close range. He manages to beat it without any sacrifices.
But when Miyata is at wave 91st, Vares uses his skills. Yup, he is also surprised about it. The worst part is the fact that it's poison. Luckily, he received a power boost. So he could dodge it.
Arriving at wave 101, two flying drones and a giant robot come out. The drones then start shooting at Miyata. He quickly cast Fire Wall. He manages to block the bullets. After that, he casts Fire Arrows and manages to knock out the drones and the robot.
At wave 121, two humanoid robots walk out of the light holding an ax. Before they could even get close, Miyata already knocks them out.
At wave 141, a robot rides a futuristic motorbike comes out of the light. Before Miyata could do anything, the motorbike had already run over him.
Back to his room, Miyata starts to reflect on himself.
'URG! How to kill that f*cker? The dungeon is so black-heart. It gives the boss a motorbike. How the hell is it so fast and durable? I fire a lot of spells, and it's still fine. I even cast the spells at him. Maybe because my spells are still weak?'
Sighing, Miyata then checks the price for the gacha. And he is right, as the price for skill gacha has increased to 2000 points. But the equipment is still at 1000 points. Look like the system still has a conscience.
'Well, at least my mana reserve increases. Maybe after a few times, I will be able to defeat that f*cker. At least tomorrow, I will be able to see a drama.'
He then stops his thought. It's this afternoon, not tomorrow. Going to the dungeon at midnight makes him lose the sense of time. Sighing, Miyata then goes to sleep.
At somewhere in the school. Nariyuki calls Miyata, Rizu and Fumino here. Miyata knows what will happen next. So he is expecting a funny situation. Nariyuki then hands them their notebooks.
"We are sorry. We read what's inside." (Nariyuki)
"Heaa!!?" (Fumino)
"!?" (Rizu)
They then realize they indeed left their notebooks yesterday. Fumino starts getting embarrassed as her face is getting red. Only Rizu is keeping her cool.
"Hawawawa." (Fumino)
"Well. We were the ones who forgot the notebooks. That aside, if there is nothing else, we would like to go." (Rizu)
They are about to leave. Nariyuki calls them back.
"No, wait, I still have something to say." (Nariyuki)
"Don't talk to me! I have no intention of being persuaded!! Even if I have to become a ronin, I won't change my objective!!" (Rizu)
"No matter what? Even if it turns out that you won't accomplish it no matter how much you try?" (Nariyuki)
"Are you picking a fight?" (Rizu)
"That's right. No matter what." (Fumino)
"I see, so that's how it is…" (Nariyuki)
Miyata is watching the argument. Miyata doesn't know why, but this looks quite funny to him. Nariyuki then opens his backpack and takes out two notebooks. He then gives it to them.
"This may all end up to be in vain, but…" (Nariyuki)
"Notebooks?" (Fumino)
"? What is this suppose to…" (Rizu)
When they open them, Miyata can see their surprised face. He can see his role soon.
"Hawawa. These… Th-Th-Th-These are notes on every single…" (Fumino)
"You did all this for us? "Advising notes"…?" (Rizu)
"After taking a look at the notebooks you forgot yesterday, I got what you weren't understanding." (Nariyuki)
"Wha… In other words, you did this in one day…? But why…!?" (Rizu)
Nariyuki then says:
"I had forgotten about the hardships I went through, that's probably why. I began to remember the many difficult times I had to go through." (Nariyuki)
Nariyuki then starts getting embarrassed but continues to say. Miyata wishes he had popcorn to eat at this moment. Watching this drama in person is fun. And for why they ignore him is because he already fades his presence. He then takes out his phone and starts recording.
"Long ago, I was bad at studying, too… Laughingly, irritably so. No matter how much I studied, I couldn't get any good grades. That's why I really understand your frustration." (Nariyuki)
"…" (Rizu)
"…" (Fumino)
"NO matter how much of a genius you are, if you can't do what you want to do, you can never really be happy. That's why I WILL MAKE YOU TWO HAPPY! BUT YOU NEED TO FOLLOW MY EVERY STEP!!" (Nariyuki)
"!?" (Rizu)
"!?" (Fumino)
"… Eh?" (Nariyuki)
The girls start getting embarrassed, but Nariyuki tilts his head, feeling confused. Miyata nods as he finishes recording this scene. He will watch this video again when he feels bored. Besides, this video can be good blackmail material.
"A CONFESSION TO BOTH OF US AT THE SAME TIME!?" (Fumino)
"You are the worst… I didn't think you were such a scum." (Rizu)
Miyata then comes to Nariyuki and pats his shoulder. Nariyuki then turns toward him.
"Good job! You are the first one to confess two girls at the same time. I even record it." (Miyata)
"AH! NO, YOU'RE MISUNDERSTANDING!! I MEANT THAT WE SHOULD WORK HARD TOGETHER TO REACH YOUR GOALS!! BUT WHAT DO YOU MEAN, YOU RECORDED IT!?" (Nariyuki)
"I'm just joking (not at all)" (Miyata)
Nariyuki looks exhausted and turns toward them. Miyata takes out his phone again and readies to take the picture. He hides his presence again.
"Ah, I see. You surprised me! I thought for sure that there was something wrong with your brain. Hahaha." (Fumino)
Rizu nods to agree with what Fumino said. They look at each other and turn toward Nariyuki. Their face starts getting red.
""Then… Thank you"" (Rizu and Fumino)
Nariyuki face is also red. Luckily, Miyata manages to capture the whole event. He is happy with these blackmail materials. Nariyuki then coughs and starts speaking.
"Well then. Let's begin anew! I actually made a test for the questions in the notebook I gave you. If you do this probably, I think you'll be able to gain more marks next time!" (Nariyuki)
"How much can someone do in one night?" (Rizu)
Miyata then remembers this scene. He takes out his phone and starts recording again.
"Well, if you have any problems, you can ask me anytime. Though I might not be able to answer anything." (Nariyuki)
The girls look like they remember something.
"Hawawa. Um… Are you sure?… Are you sure you won't be mad?" (Fumino)
Rizu raises her hand and asks:
"Is it okay for us to ask anything any time?" (Rizu)
"Yeah! I won't get mad, come at me!" (Nariyuki)
"What's your name, again?" (Fumino)
"What was it now?" (Rizu)
"Ahh, you guys are really annoying! THROUGHOUT THE LAST WEEK, YOU HAD NO INTEREST IN ME WHATSOEVER! DARN IT!!" (Nariyuki)
"Don't worry! I remember your name." (Miyata)
"Kame-san!" (Nariyuki)
The girls look surprised.
"Hawawa. When did you get here?" (Fumino)
"How come you are here?" (Rizu)
"Oh! I came from the beginning. I also heard his confession. Truly remarkable." (Miyata)
"Ah! Forgot about that Kame-san" (Nariyuki)
The day then ends like that. Back at home, Miyata sits on his sofa and thinks about his action earlier at school. He looks at the dark sky outside with an indifferent face.
'That's youth, huh? Why did I take pictures and videos of the event? Maybe I want to enjoy this youth in my previous world. But am I even worthy of enjoying this? I'm no longer a pure heart person anymore. I'm a broken person with a broken moral.'
Shaking his head, Miyata waits till midnight to come to the dungeon.
