Chapter 4: Trapped
I made sure to keep my distance from Rin during the whole welcoming process, Jina volunteered to show them to their rooms and I knew she did it for no one else but Rin.
After having a light dinner, Jina took them all upstairs and I strode to mine after kissing both my parents goodnight.
I got to my room and locked the door, it was night time again and that creepy feeling was starting to crawl over me, I was wondering if I should sleep with Jina tonight instead, if I stay with Jina, maybe I won't feel so scared.
I was about to open the door but stopped to think it through. No, I can't do that, she's already suspicious about something and I really do not want to add anything to her doubtful mind, I never once allowed Jina stay with me for the night so going to meet her right now and telling her to come stay with me, she'll drop loads of question on me and I do not have the strength to answer any of them.
I walked to my window gazing at the sky which was as black as diamond, will I really be able to sleep tonight?, I definitely can't tell my parents about any of this cause it'll only worry them and that isn't what I want.
I browsed through my book shelf instead for any books I could read and came across a book titled. "Trapped"
The title was really captivating and why would a book be titled trapped?, the book seems a little old though due to it's rough edges, I opened it up and the first chapter talked about a wolf.
I closed it up immediately, great, a book finally catches my attention and it had to talk about a wolf.
Still...
It wouldn't really hurt to read about it, I held the book still debating on if it would be wise to read it or not, I was already drawn to the book to let it go and decided to read it, wolves aren't real anyway.
I took the book and sat on the bed to read it, I really wanted to Know why the book was titled trapped and how a werewolf got involved in it.
I was already on the first page when all of a sudden.
I was back at the woods again, the tall trees, the darkness consuming me again, I closed my eyes and crouched to the floor hugging my knees, don't think about it, it is just a silly dream, don't think about it.
I heard a sudden growl making me tense up but I didn't run as I always did, I remained where I was hugging my knees while my body trembled, this has to end cause I'm tired of it.
It got closer and closer I fought the urge to run away closing my eyes tightly, all of a sudden, the growling stopped and I wondered why, I was expecting to get pounced on but felt a cool slender finger tilt my head up.
"Open your eyes." the voice was audibly attractive and the same time dreading as I felt a sweat run down my back.
"Open your eyes." he said again and my eyes slowly flutter open to meet his gaze, those beautiful golden eyes staring at me with so much hatred, I swallowed hard and tried to stay calm.
"W....who are you?" I asked, I couldn't see his face clearly due to the dark and also cause he had a hood on, for someone like him to be in such an austere place, it meant he was trouble but I could easily detect he had a smirk on his face.
"I'm an Alpha but the question revolves around you." he lets go off my chin and steps away from me.
"What do you want?" it took me alot of courage to ask that and he turned his back on me with a cold chuckle.
"What do I want?!" my question seemed to have angered him a bit.
"I want to see you suffer that's what I want!" he shot me a glare and I lowered my head in fear, afraid to stare into his menacing gaze.
"Are you ready to get TRAPPED?"
I gasped at his word, staring at him wide eyed, trapped?
He smiled with satisfaction at my expression and pointed his finger at me.
"I'm coming for you."
His words sent my heart throbbing violently against my chest and my eyes flung open after that.
I flinched, sitting upright on my bed, my breathing came out short, what was that?!
My rising pulse was starting to deteriorate a bit and I gazed at the book on my bed.
"TRAPPED" I whispered gazing at the title of the book, my dream wasn't any different from the book, he said he was coming for me.
There was a knock on my door startling me up to my feet, c.... could that be him?!
I swallowed hard and searched for anything I could use to defend myself, I grabbed a bat from my closet and slowly headed towards the door.
A thousand questions raised in my mind as I stalked towards the door, the knock came again and and I took a deep breath tightening my hold on the bat.
I held the door knob and finally opened it swinging the bat forward, ready to hit whoever was standing in front of the door but my hand was held mid air stopping me from hitting whoever it was.
I opened my eyes to see I almost hit Jina who already averted her gaze waiting to get hit but Rin was the one who held my hand stopping me, my eyes widened and I let go off the bat.
"Jina, I'm so sorry I didn't know you were at the door" I quickly explained, she finally turned to look at me with a sigh of relieve.
"Thank goodness I didn't get hit." she said and gazed at Rin dreamingly.
"You saved me." she said sweetly before he turned his gaze to her.
"It's not a big deal, your friend seems to be having issues." he was gazing at me now and I averted my gaze, darn I forgot how charming he looked, Jina hurried to me.
"You alright?, what were you doing with a bat?" she asked worriedly and I forced a smile.
"It's....it's nothing, I just....I mean I heard a noise and I just held it for protection."
"What kind of noise?" she asked suspiciously and I didn't know what explanation to give, my gaze landed on Rin who was just as confused, the wolf said he'd show up tonight, but Rin is here instead, could he be???
But his eyes held not even a tiniest bit of hatred for me, he looks just as confused as Jina right now.
I knew Jina wanted to question me more but she wouldn't want to show her doubtful nature to Rin.
"You know what, forget it at least no one got hurt." she said and I tried to remain calm although I had a lot of things going on in my mind, why didn't the Alpha show up?, did the Alpha only say that to scare me?, just so I could hurt someone I cared about?, if yes why?!, is there something I must have done in my past life to be chased by an Alpha in my sleep?
Jina snapped her fingers at my face gaining my attention.
"Down to earth Keeley." she said and I smiled embarrassingly at her.
"Sorry about that."
"Are you sure you're alright?" she placed a hand on my forehead checking my temperature, I rolled my eyes at her.
"I'm fine."
"Are you sure?, come sit." she took me straight to my bed and made me sit on it.
"Wait, why are you guys even here?"I asked, I didn't know why but I knew deep down there was a confirmation I needed.
"I was coming to you, I plan on staying with you tonight so Rin chose to accompany me here, I was too scared to come alone."
"Oh." I suddenly felt guilty for being suspicious about Rin, he just showed up and I'm being too suspicious already, I glanced at him and forced a smile.
"Thank you for accompanying her here."
He nodded and I watch his beautiful eyes fall on the book on my bed, he took a step forward and met my gaze.
"Can I?" he asked, he was seeking permission to get the book and I really didn't mind, I nodded and he took the book gazing at the title.
"Trapped." he uttered and I felt my heart jump at his words, he was also impressed.
"I hope you don't mind me reading this." he asked and surprisingly, I didn't have a problem, it's just a book anyways and I wouldn't want to have anything to do with it after that dream so why not give it out.
"You can have it."
