Chapter 55: Midoriya Izuku pt.2

If you saw the new chapter of my other fanfiction, then you already know that I've got corona again. That pissed me off a lot.

Right now I just want a hug. Or vodka. Or both. Both are good.

-_-_-_-

Midnight brought her whip down with a loud crack. The Heroine was tempted to just pull a "Mic" at Sirius and get him to do her job, but where's the fun in that?

"Now, for an Athlete's Oath!" She said through the loud cheering of the crowd.

"Ooh! That's the R-rated Hero: Midnight!"

"I saw her on TV last night! She was talking about the sexiness of Heroine's costumes! Quite the show, I tell ya."

That comment alone gave her pause. She remembered that talk show, the one where she totally kicked Mt. Lady's ass. Not the proudest of her moments, she could've done better.

But her students weren't so enthusiastic.

"Midnight-Sensei? Oh, God, we're doomed." Mina whimpered. She knew how sadistic her teacher could be.

"Shut it!" Midnight snapped. "Pipe down!! Your student representative is. . ." She sighed heavily. "From class 1-A, Bakugo Katsuki!"

Students of 1-A were confused, to say the least. Bakugo wasn't the most popular person in their class, to put it mildly. If in one distant universe Kirishima became his friend and showed everyone that Bakugo wouldn't kill them at the first opportunity, then in this universe Kirishima was Midoriya's friend. He knew what Bakugo did to those he considered below him.

As a result, Katsuki was lonely as hell. Not that he didn't deserve it.

And how did he become the student representative? Well. . .

- One week ago. Teachers lounge. -

"Okay, how're we going to do this?" Midnight asked.

The topic of today was the choosing of the student representative at the Sports Festival. So a couple of teachers gathered around and thought about who to pick.

"I say we use the one who got the first place in the entrance exam. Little listener deserved it."

"You're saying that just because Midoriya likes your radio show."

"Hey! Just because that's true doesn't mean he didn't deserve it!"

Aizawa grumbled something under his breath and got out from his cocoon/sleeping bag.

"Just throw the best student based on the academic performance. We don't need to spend all this time on some irrational shit."

And then, like a devil from a snuffbox, Nezu appeared in his chair.

"I have a wonderful idea! A random selection! This way no one can accuse another of favoritism, and we don't need to spend another second on it."

"Why do I feel like it's a bad idea?" Sirius muttered.

Bakugo Katsuki was selected, and Sirius understood why that was a bad idea.

- Back at the Festival. -

"For the Athlete's Oath. . ." Bakugo looked around at the crowd of fellow students. "Don't kill yourselves on my explosions when I'm gonna blast myself to the first place."

Izuku groaned. Now his childhood bully turned the rest of the students against 1-A.

"Izu? Are you okay?" Ochako asked.

He just groaned a little louder as a "Yes."

"Okay! Let's crush this Festival!" She cheered and jumped in the air.

'Only if you crush my head with your thighs.'

Ochako's face turned redder than a tomato, and a huge smile appeared on Mina's face. For a couple of seconds, Izuku didn't understand what had happened, but then he was struck with a thought.

"I said it out loud, didn't I?"

Both girls nodded and Izuku thought for a couple of seconds.

"Well, now is as good as ever. Ochako, wanna go grab something to eat after the Festival?"

His answer was a meek "yes" from the rad-faced girl.

"Now, let's get this party started! The first event is. . ."

Behind her, out of nowhere, a wheel with many names of different events appeared. Izuku could have sworn there was even a "Magic Duel" so he had a couple of questions for Sirius after this.

"These are the qualifiers! It's in this stage are so many sent home crying! And the fateful first event this year is-"

<For the love of- Say it, or I'm going to turn you into pure metal and give you to Support Course!>

The unholy gleam in the eyes of Support Course students gave Nemuri nightmares for the next three nights.

"A race, Sirius! It's an obstacle course race!" She wiped a bead of sweat from her forehead. "It's a race between every member of all eleven classes! The course is a four-kilometer lap around the stadium itself! Our school preaches freedom in all things! Hehehe. . . So as long as you don't go off the course, everything is fair game!"

At those words, a huge smile appeared on Izuku's face. He had put on the special boots beforehand, so he had a slight advantage. He would've kissed Gin for helping him learn some of the blueprints for her inventions, but that would've been weird. She was like a Sister to him, and she liked girls. So that was a double no.

But in times like this, Izuku thought God hated him.

And of course, from Sirius's stories and Luna's dreamy sighs, he knew that the Gods exist - and wasn't it maddening? To know that you are one of the few who knows for sure that Gods exist, that they are watching the universe - and that one is watching this planet. So Izuku was sure that he somehow offended God and now he must suffer for his mistakes. How else to explain that he stood next to Todoroki and Bakugo at the very beginning of the race?

"Deku, if you even try to get in my way, I will fucking kill you." The explosive teenager muttered and used his explosions as a scare tactic. That didn't work - Sirius was scarier and could produce more explosions.

The first event at the festival was a 4 km race around the stadium. And the fact that Izuku was in front of the whole crowd was a coincidence, fortunate or not, he couldn't decide.

<I need to remind the participants that if you deliberately injure other students participating in this event, you are fucked. Just a friendly reminder.>

Knowing he needed speed, he took off his weights before the start of the race and tried to get used to moving without them. This made him seem jumpy, especially since everyone knew his status as a Quirkless. He could hear whispers behind him even now, but he didn't let them distract him. Race first, Quirkists later.

"Racers, to your positions!"

The first signal above the gate lit up with a loud ding. Izuku touched his boots and created spikes on them to have better contact with the ground. A metal plate in the sole can help in many situations, especially if you are going to walk on heads.

By the second signal, Izuku was fully prepared. His breathing became even, and his eyes filled with life. From his hands and feet, an emerald aura began to emanate, like a calm river.

"What the hell?"

"Huh? What's that?"

With the third signal, the world began to move.

Izuku charged forward with explosive speed, ignoring the other students' cries of protest. He pushed off the walls and ceiling, completely avoiding everyone. The green-haired teenager heard the crack of ice behind him and felt a wave of cold, but this didn't stop him.

<What a chilling start! Ready to comment, psychopaths?>

<Well, to tell the truth, out of all the employees of U.A. only Aizawa has common sense. So yes.>

Izuku didn't turn around to see what happened. Todoroki most likely froze the ground before going out and the legs of the competitors along with it.

<Wow, look at the Green guy in the lead! He has already reached the first barrier: Robo Inferno!>

A very familiar sight appeared in front of Izuku. The robots from the entrance exam stood between him and the road. Dozens of metal killers looked at him like he was fresh meat, not even knowing that in a couple of minutes they would become scrap metal. But the biggest problem was the dozens of Zero Pointers who were loomed over like giants from Hell.

<Go Izuku!>

<Luna, you're supposed to be impartial.>

<I am! But look at him go! Zoom-zoom-zoom!>

Izuku laughed softly and crouched low. On the seats, Bang took an umbrella and opened it above him, confusing a couple people around him.

"Erm. . . Sir, ribbit? What are you doing?"

The family with frog Quirks sitting next to him tilted their heads to the side at the same time.

"Oh, just a precotion. That's my student and I know what he's going to pull."

As if on que, Izuku jumped up to the head of one of the Zero Pointers and kicked up. The head of the robot shattered into a hundred pieces, but one of them went straight to the stadium.

Bang looked up at the sky and moved his umbrella a little to the right. In the next second, a piece of metal fell on it and bounced off without much harm. The frog family looked at him with wide eyes.

". . . Did your student just tried to kill you?"

"Ha! Of course not. That's his way of showing love!"
