Hellhounds pace along the stone wall of the castle like sentinels. The blood-thirsty creatures on the ground circle the screaming humans. They work in organized packs, taking the men down one at a time.

Surrounded by animals, Mercy calls upon her inner beast. She surrenders to the anger consuming her and allow her wings to unfold and expand behind her. She catches an updraft and rises several feet off the ground.

"Magnificent." The single word rolls from Augustus' darkened lips.

"Who are you - either of you - to presume what shall become of my child or me?" She shoots a seething gaze toward the demon. "I belong to no man. For I am my own master."

A hellhound leaps into the air and nips at her ankle.

As she spins out of reach, she comes face to muzzle with another creature.
