An extremely interesting class led to gaining another 2 points in magic, as well as sparking some new ideas for engraving full spells onto gems, giving a lot more control over crafting results. Jake then headed off to monster class, which was talking about frogs, poisonous ones, venomous onse, Bullywug, and other related creatures. They were pretty harmless to being way stronger than them, but when they had a level advantage they could absolutely destroy anyone who tried to invade without proper resistances.
Jaylen leaned over to Jake and whispered loudly.
"You look kind of bad?, is everything alright?"
"Just a dream I think. Did you get your skeleton mage setup?"
"No, I need daddy to get me a pill to make it safer. And he is with the queen, my mom. She is normally busy running the kingdom when daddy is taking care of me."
"What kind of pill would help with that?"
"A skeleton ascending pill thingy to increase its chances of doing the thing."
"Evolving?"
"No, it makes it more likely to gain a merging ability when it enters!"
"Oh, so you're going to gain its abilities too?"
"Eventually I can have a bunch of them and gain like a billion abilities!"
"Cool."
"Do you know what kind of core ability you're going to pick?"
"I don't have the materials for the ritual to unlock that slot, and even if I did I have no idea what I would pick."
"Oooh! That gives me an idea! I can give everyone a set so our whole party can be super strong and beat the test."
"I'm pretty sure that you're the only one with an ability worth that, but I guess if you like giving gifts."
"Yessie!"
Combat class was significantly more boring than the day before and was an obstacle course that was way too easy with Jake's stats.
"Welcome back to group class, today we will discuss what everyone plans for future classes, what path will you take?"
Ray started it off
"Want to make my church proud and be the shark god's herald, so I will go with whatever my god chooses for me."
Jake wanted to get his out of the way early, sense it was all lies anyway.
"Probably just go into a higher class of fire mage, maybe go for a flamedancer class just because I like spears."
Jaylen Spoke
"I can't let my talent with skeletons go to waste so I want to go from black mage into necromancer and then to skeleton Lord or commander of undead."
"Shadow mage into assassin and then pick up shadowblade at level 45. It's faster than the normal way to get shadowblade."
Yi said before the rest of the group. They each had plans to get strong combat classes, which worried Jake that he wouldn't ever be able to catch up. Even though worrying wasn't doing him any favors, he couldn't get it out of his head. After class he knew that he needed a clear head before getting back to the volatile zombie world.
Jake got on a train into the city and started walking. He didn't have a lot of money, but he went to the open magic market. Unlike the divine griffin, there were no set prices or restrictions on who could come in. It was much cheaper, but also very inconsistent in quality and variety.
There were maybe a hundred stalls set up in tents on the street as well as stores that lined the sidewalks so there were always four sets of stores per street. To enter Jake had to show his ID as well as prove he could use magic or had high stats, just to make sure that nobody underage was able to get in.
The first stalls and shops were all high end, so there was no way he was going to get anything until he got later on, where the stalls were cheaper to rent and as such had cheaper products.. A few minutes later his walk was interrupted by a small dwarf that stopped him.
"Hey you. Yeah you. I want to talk with you."
"Sorry, do I know you?"
"Oh no, I am just looking at your jewelry and was wondering if you would be willing to sell."
Jake thought about selling, but wasnt ready to give up his identity as a combat class. At the same time, he could sell his lightning bracelet for a thousand or so, which wasn't very useful to him anymore with its low stats and ability that wasn't very strong. He could probably get 100,000 for his anubis ring, but he needed it if he was going to beat this zombie quest quickly so selling it was out of the question. He and the small dwarf
"Fine, what piece do you want?"
"That necklace looks really good, what does it do?"
"It gives 20 dex and 20 vitality, so it's good for swordsmen. But it's almost half of both stats for me, so it will be a high price."
"Well what rarity is it, if it's epic I don't want it, but if it's rare I can give you 1000. Does that sound fair?"
"It's common rank, the high stats are from its ability."
"Common! That means that any awakened person can wear it. I can give you 4000."
"I will give it to you for 5k. You can sell it to someone rich for at least double that. It would make a great awakening gift for someone."
"5k for that and the number of the crafter."
"Deal."
Jake gave his number to the dwarf, but didn't tell him it was his own number. After inspecting the necklace and transferring the money they went their separate ways. Jake picked up enough slime cores to upgrade his bracelet for 2500, and low quality sleep potion for another 2k, leaving him with 1000 dollars left.
