Chapter 28: Chapter 28

Nobody but him in this world could see the names of items, so he didn't spend much effort on them and instead was focused on testing out his newest creation. He put it on and shot out a blast. It… was underwhelming. It was by no means bad, but compared to flame spear at level 3 with its boost the smaller round ki blast could compare. It could still sell for a high price with how rare lower grade ranged skills were.

They really were going to make him pick up one of the aspects. Jake had been avoiding them just because they couldn't increase the speed of his level ups. The crow aspect could give a lot of good utility, the polar bear would give good physical boosts, and wendigo was kind of a wildcard. Windigo's were demons, which gave them some useful, yet dangerous abilities. The main worry was Cannibalize, it would destroy a dead humanoid, increasing its own ability. In the end, the crow would be the most useful than the other two. He could get stats from cultivating, and using a demon's power gave the chance to corrupt him which wasn't desirable.

The crow aspect might not have been as exciting as the other two, but he was lacking utility for the moment. He was also afraid of skills that could see his class, like Lexy's which mystery could block. He couldn't recreate the exact bracelet but he was able to make another 5 with the same materials which gave him another 11,000 EXP. It still wasn't even close to getting to another level, but he was happy to have more products to sell. He had used the aspect of the crow on two of them, which gave one flaming talons and the other extra piercing ability.

It took him almost the entire day and night to complete, even with crafting haste. Jake took all the weapons and resorted them into one side of the shop, leaving the other side for his creations. He once again labeled them, but this time he wrote that it was a one off please, letting him raise the price to 50-70 silver each. They all had 10 stats and an ability, making them useful and have a lot of power even if the user did not want the other power they offered.

He didn't want to wait too long to open the shop, but he didn't want to open it just yet as he had not stocked all the shelves yet. He had run out of ki so he couldn't work anymore unless he waited or slept, so he did the latter. Another day in his homeworld, but this time he got the chance to do something he wanted to do since he awakened. Actually have a fair fight. Every single time he had fought after awakening where the winner wasn't already decided.

Jake woke up in a perky mood, ready for the fight against the slime dungeons. He met up with Lexy in front of the dungeon building. The slime dungeon was set so they entered with whoever they were touching, meaning that the two of them got the entire dimension to themselves. For safety reasons they had to take a hearthstone, which cost five points each. There were also another two points each to enter the dungeon, making the total come out to nine. Lexy couldn't afford to pay for both, so Jake paid for her ticket.

They stepped through the glowing blue portal to see an open grassy field covered in little blue globs. The only structure in the entire dungeon were scattered blocks of cut stone, some stacked into arches or the base of towers.

[New Quest]

Quest[First Dungeon]

Defeat 10 slimes [0/10]

Defeat the Royal Slime [0/1]

Rewards

5,000 EXP

Unused Stat Points [2]

Random Royal Slime Item

It was a pretty straightforward quest, with quality rewards for completion.

"Are you ready to do this?"

Jake said to Lexy, readying a flame spear.

"Let's do it."

She summoned up a wind blade and fired it directly through one of the slimes, killing and slicing its core clean in half.

"I need a ton of slime cores, can you not damage them"

Lexy used two blades to cut around the core, allowing her to kill them in one hit and preserving the cores. They were a lot stronger inside the dungeon rather than outside of it, which made it really difficult for him. Each slime was equal to around a level four and the boss a level 15.
