"You are a beast mistress. Ask the right question?" 

"Is my mother alive?" Jamie asked again.

"No but she is still in this world. She is closer than you think. Ask the right question?"

"I don't know the right question!" Jamie yelled at her.

Alexander and his crew rode for a long time. With the speed they were going, Alexander thought they would have reached her but Jamie was nowhere in sight. 

Even as they got to the river leading to the isle of the blessed and got down from their horses, deep down Alexander knew something was wrong.

He felt it but he couldn't prove it.

If Janessa made it to the river then where was her horse. 

"Something is wrong!" Alexander said out loud. 

He turned around and walked away from the river to look for her in the bush surrounding them.

"Janessa!" He whispered under his breath like she was close by and he was scolding her.
