Chapter 81: [Bonus chapter] Birthday celebration (6)

Nathaniel wandered into the entrance of the ballroom. He took a deep breath, unsure what to expect of the party Noam threw for him. 

He stood on top of the stairs waiting for his escort. Nate scrutinized his eyes into the room, looking for Omar. His escort was nowhere to be seen. 

It was a birthday yet Nathaniel felt like a groom waiting for his bride. The feeling was tremendously uncomfortable. 

He paced at the stairs, questions crosscrossing in her mind. Is Omar coming? When will he get here? Am I early? Am I overdressed? What will happen tonight?

Nathaniel's anxiety was getting the better of him. The minutes passing by elevated his stress levels. A slow romantic song played in the ballroom. Nathaniel was curious about the party but he understood that he had to wait for Omar. 

"Are you alright?" Noam made his presence known. He arrived by the stairs dressed in a black suit with a bouquet of red roses.
