[The Watcher POV.]

Time.

Space.

Reality.

It's more than a linear path, it's a prism of endless possibilities, where a single choice can branch out into infinite realities creating alternate worlds from the ones you know.

I am The Watcher, the guardian of these realities.

The one to know it all.

What will be.

What could be.

I had, after all, seen it all happen more than once. However, I was proved wrong, when the anomaly came to be.

Alex Walker, an unknown, his existence a singularity in all of the multiverse.

A deviation from all, without precedent.

I had observed Alex through it all.

His awakening.

The challenges he had to face, all of it, I had witnessed it. For me, every event involving him, every turn, every blink, every action, every challenge he faced, it was all new.

I had seen him go from a mortal man, to a God, with each step he took paving his unconceivable future with endless possibilities, just like the multiverse.

Today, he was about to face Set, an elder God of untold power, that just a few days ago was out of his reach completely. However, Alex seemed confident of his victory, after having trained within his dungeons for eighteen days.

I had no way to confirm his claims, for his dungeons as he called them stepped out of his reality, leaving without sight of his. So, I truly had no idea what he did in them, but if past events had proved anything, it was that Alex was hardly a liar.

A truth the Elder God would soon find out.

—---------------------------------------------------------------------------

[Alex Walker POV]

I walked towards Set, my energy flaring in anger at the sight of him.

"I might torture that female a bit after I'm done with you," Set taunted with a sickening smile, his body morphing with an explosion into what I assumed was his true form. A six-headed serpent of massive proportions, one that would easily tower above the tallest mountain, each of his heads gracing the sky menacingly from a different angle.

In a fit of rage, I dashed towards him in a blur of movement, closing the distance between us before he could continue talking, grabbing one of his heads with my left hand before smashing it into the ground. This putrid beast had crossed a line, and he would pay for it. There was no holding back, there was no calm approach, only making him suffer as much as I could.

"Well, impatient are we? I wanted to play a bit before having supper, but sure, let's play your way." He said through one of his many heads, with the head I had smashed into the ground, bleeding, as he offered a sadistic laugh that echoed across the empty planet. "Ah, well, in that case, let's eat!" At this, Set's energy exploded with power, his cosmic presence becoming larger, as his power increased.

He was tapping into his realm to access more power.

I was, however, overwhelmingly unimpressed by his pathetic display, simply deciding to match his display of power, by flaring my own cosmic energy to match his.

"My, my, impressive, no wonder you are so confident." Set cackled, his serpentine tongues oscillating outside his heads in quivering excitement. "Be that as it may, it won't be enough, but, if it's any consolation, it does make you look more appetizing."

I said nothing, gesturing at him to come at me with one hand confidently. Set chuckled at this, charging at me. Our auras flaring, like small stars in a bright display of power that illuminated the planet, as we crashed into one another, our attacks pushing against one another.

—----------------------------

[Set - The Serpent God - POV]

I charged towards Alex, sure the amount of power I was channeling from my realm would be more than enough to deal with him quickly, I was, after all, using a level of power far greater than I have ever used before, however, the moment our attacks clashed, I felt myself being pushed back.

That should've been impossible.

A few days ago, I was vastly stronger than him, yet, now, as we fought, he was not only matching my attacks, but he was pushing them back with a stoic expression on his face, easily keeping up with me.

His potential was unmatched, but this was inconceivable.

Now, more than ever, I wanted to devour him.

Laughing, I began to channel more power from my realm, trying to overwhelm him, to test his current limits before devouring him, however, rather than pushing him in any measure, I found myself being pushed back even harder as he remained unfazed through all of it.

I gritted my teeth in anger, before opening my mouths, blasting at him with multiple torrents of energy. Each blast coming from a different angle, making my attack one impossible to dodge, at least completely.

However, as my attacks were about to reach him, he took a step forward, maneuvering his body around, dodging each blast with ease, as if dodging toys being thrown at him, before teleporting in front of me, snapping two of my necks with a simple chop.

"You bastard," I snarled in pain, slithering a few meters back from him as my necks healed. I had to give it to him, he had improved a lot, more so than I ever imagined. Nevertheless, I was far from done, I still had a lot of power to tap into. He would soon learn just how powerful I was.

"Is that all?" He asked.

"Don't be cocky now, I have barely begun to tap into my true power!" I spat in anger, slamming my tail to the ground, as I channeled even more power from my realm before rushing at him again. This time creating multiple clones of me, to attack him from every conceivable angle at the same time with a vast array of attacks, in an attempt to overwhelm the arrogant fool to show him the error of his way.

However, much to my shock, Alex managed to block each one of my attacks with a disconcerting amount of ease, without even looking at them, keeping his eyes fixed on me, the original body.

'This shouldn't be possible!' I cursed inwardly. While it was true I had yet to reach my limit, this was inconceivable, no one, no matter his potential, should be able to reach such a level, in such an amount of time! It took millions of years to reach the level he was displaying!

"I told you, didn't I?" Alex said, walking towards me as he blocked all of my attacks, including those coming from my clones. "I am stronger than you."

Angered by his hubris, I tried to push my advance harder, but before I could, Alex blurred out of sight, appearing in front of me, landing a clean hit to my body, right where my liver was located, sending my body flying across the planet, with a trail of blood that followed close behind.

"No matter what you do you will not defeat me, to me, you are nothing but a pathetic worm," Alex said, before erasing my clones with a simple wave of his arm.

"What a boast! Careful not to choke on your modesty brat! Then, again, I can't really fault you for being this confident, I mean, credit where it is due, you have really exceeded my expectations, by a big margin I'll admit," I laughed, my body healing as I stood up from the ground, glaring at him. "But, as I said before, I am far from done!"

"Far from done? Good, I haven't even started using my power," Alex replied, hardening his gaze at me with a confident air.

His hubris really knew no bounds.

He really thought he was stronger than me.

He would see!

No more playing around!

"Is that so?" I exclaimed, sneering. "Then allow me to correct your faulty disillusions! By showing you my real power!"

"Be a nice change of pace," Alex replied, with a cocky smile.

"We'll see!" I growled, my body suddenly exploding with power as I tapped into all there was to get from my realm, reaching my maximum power. Normally, I didn't enjoy using this amount of power, as I could only use it for a few minutes outside my realm, but a few minutes it's all I needed. "So, still confident?"

He would be the first being in eons to taste my full power.

I could hardly wait to see his cocky demeanor turn into one of despair before devouring him!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[Alex Walker POV]

I watched as Set powered up, channeling all of his power out of his realm, finding myself genuinely surprised by how much power he had in store, nevertheless, it would not be enough, not even close.

"So, still confident?" Set asked, and I could tell he was certain the battle was now in his hands.

I said nothing, sighing in disdain before matching his power. I had played enough with my food as it is, and I wanted to finish this quickly, that putrid worm had lived more than enough. What really shocked me was how blind he was to everything outside himself. Even a blind man could've seen the power difference between us, but he was so certain of his power, he was blind to anything beyond his own preconceptions.

"Time to end this!" Set snarled, launching a powerful set of energy blasts my way, each one with the power to consume galaxies, which I dodged easily, while dissipating the energy within each blast with my own energy.

Trying to push his advance, Set moved towards me, following up with a series of powerful attacks, both physical and magical, leading to a flurry of exchanges as we locked into combat.

He was confident, overwhelmingly so, so much, he had yet to realize I was blocking and matching every attack with ease.

I sighed, pushing him back with a wave of gravitational force, before moving behind him, finally tapping into my current limit, ready to end the fight.

"What–" Set muttered, paralyzed by what he saw in me as overwhelming power. Just before he took the full brunt of a devastating blast on his body, as I used [Requiem].

The attack sent Set hurling out across the dead galaxy I had selected for our encounter, his body spinning wildly and out of control, disintegrating in his path many planets, until he finally stopped on a planet, creating a massive crater upon his landing.

"H-how… it's been only a few days…." Set moaned in pain, questioning how I had surpassed him so fast, as I landed a few feet away from him. "I c-can't die here…" he added in horror, trying with all of his might to drag his body away from me, while trying to open a portal to his realm, sadly for him, I was blocking his attempts to do so.

Letting him struggle for a bit like a dying fish, I moved to where he had landed, and summoned an empty vial, getting him some of his blood from the ground.

With that done, I saved the vial in my inventory, before walking towards him as he struggled to get away, erasing his other heads and necks with a quick wave of my arm, before slamming my feet on his remaining neck, stopping him from moving any further.

"I can help you! Together we can fight Knull!" Set cried in desperation, resorting as his last ultimate effort to begging.

"You truly are pathetic," I muttered, leaning forward to look him in the eyes. "I've been told snakes taste like chicken, I wonder if that's true…" I smiled, as Set realized what was about to happen, he who sought to devour me, would be devoured, how ironic for him.

—----------------------

Having devoured Set, I teleported back to Sif, using the purified vial of blood I had acquired on her, healing her curse.

A few seconds later, she shot up from the couch, her heart beating fast, as she looked around, failing to notice me the first three times her eyes passed around me.

"Alex!" Sif exclaimed, finally noticing my presence, as an expression of dread dawned upon her face. "Adara! He's our–" I stopped her, giving her a hug.

"I took care of it," I whispered in her ear. "He won't be a problem anymore, for anyone."

"He…" Sif muttered, connecting the dots before hugging me back, "I was so scared… I was afraid he would kill you…" she cried.

"He tried, he failed," I chuckled, breaking the hug to give her a kiss. "He wasn't even a warm up."

"But, didn't you say last time he was stronger than you?" Sif smiled, wiping the tears of her face with a hand.

"That was two weeks ago," I winked, grinning playfully.

She chuckled, giving me another kiss before asking, "What happened to him?"

"I ate him," I replied, earning a look from her. "What? He wanted to eat me, so it was only fair." I shrugged.

"Fair enough," Sif chuckled again, taking a deep breath, before panicking all of the sudden. "Hela!"

"What about her?" I asked, tilting my head to the side.

"He teleported her away! We have to find her!" Sif replied, her eyes full of concern.

Had those two become friends while I was away?

"Okay," I nodded, summoning Hela to the room with a thought.

"I will kill that bastard," Hela muttered in a dangerously low tone, her entire body covered in blood, and it wasn't hers. "No matter how long it takes me, I will…"

"Hela, what happened?" Sif asked, rushing to Hela's side.

"The bastard teleported me to a beast infested forest full of reptiles, leaving me to die! But if he thinks not having my powers is enough for some brainless animals to kill me, he's severely underestimating me!" Hela spat, anger clear in her voice. "I might be weak, but I have more than enough experience to compensate! Now, call Alex, and tell him I need my powers to kill someone!"

"Hi," I waved at her.

"Alex! Good! Now please release my seals, so that I can shove my blades through that bastard's ass repeatedly!" Hela said, wiping some blood off her face.

"He's dead," Sif replied.

"And he was way… out of your league, but I appreciate the sentiment," I added.

Hela blinked, before sighing, "I know, I just wanted to have a go at him. Did he suffer?"

"Yeah, a lot, he wasn't able to hurt me in the slightest," I replied with a grin. "Not only that, but after I had crushed his spirit, I ate him."

"You ate him?" Hela repeated.

"I ate him," I nodded.

"Good enough for me," Hela sighed, her eyes scanning her body from top to bottom. "Well, seeing as the threat has been neutralized, I have other things to do, like taking a bath… for example."

"I thought you enjoyed a good bath of blood," Sif remarked with a playful smile.

"After almost drowning in reptile blood, I take back my statement," Hela replied, rolling her eyes at Sif.

They had truly become friends… What in the hell happened while I was gone?

"Fair enough," Sif chuckled, pointing at her bathroom, "You can use my shower if you want."

"I most certainly do," Hela nodded, taking the offer.

I smiled, snapping my fingers, returning to Hela what I had taken away.

"I was about to ask you to do that," Sif said, smiling as Hela inspected her adult body with a grin.

"You were?" I asked, not all surprised by her statement, I mean, from what I could see, they had become besties while I was gone.

"Yeah, I needed a training partner," Sif nodded.

"See you in the arena," Hela chuckled, walking towards the bathroom. Her dot on my minimap green.

"So, friends with Hela huh?" I snickered.

"Continue on that path, and we will have a problem, mister," Sif smiled, playfully threatening.
