Chapter 26: The Musicale

Nihaal sat on his bed by the lampshade pretending to read a hardbound book about the Mughal Empire. He reluctantly and guiltily reminisced the day at the park – reminisced the kiss. The shy look on Suhasini’s face yet the wry smile around the corners of her mouth when she had asked him to be not so formal anymore. The hope returned and Nihaal felt him craving for Suhasini’s small mouth, mouth which was slowly becoming expert. He shut the book with a loud thud and went and sat on the armchair looking a little disappointed. The same disappointment he had felt when Suhasini had readily agreed to go and look for Shekhar and Madhavi. Nihaal in all truthfulness had wanted Suhasini to protest. He had wanted Suhasini to ask for some more time with him. He had wanted Suhasini to kiss him again.
