Shekhar parked his Fiat cautiously at a safe distance from the shop Mr. Rekhi had told them about. Shekhar and Suhasini both got down of the car – Suhasini in a simpler saree and a plain black cardigan with a low bun and had absolutely no fuss about her looks. Shekhar on the other hand wore a plain pleated pant with a rather dull looking stripped shirt and a hand knitted sweater – a complete contrast of the tailor-made suits he preferred or the fanciful Corduroy jackets he donned to his clubs and brunches with friends.
‘Few paces straight and then there’s small alley on the right. Fifth shop on the left. That’s what Rekhi ji had told’, said Shekhar as he and Suhasini walked ahead. Suhasini was a little nervous – not sweat beads on the temple nervous but an occasional sigh nervous.
‘Don’t worry, it’ll be a cakewalk for you, Suhasini’ Shekhar showed his generous and most genuine smile as he could sense the tension building up inside her.
