Chapter 71: Child Of The Goddess

Nestled on the eastern fringes of the Sharqi Kingdom, Dean sat by the side of the mysterious lady, pondering her identity and what made her deserving of the protection that now lay lifeless around her, courtesy of the bandits who too met their demise.

As Dean glanced at the child cradled in his arms, a warm smile spread across his face. He noticed how the little one played with the necklace he had gifted him, a token he had retrieved from the fallen churchmen strewn across the ground.

Concern etched across his face, Dean turned to Elynea and asked, "Is she going to be okay?" His gaze shifted to the unconscious lady lying beside him, while Elynea attended to her with utmost care.

Elynea, holding a burning stick close to the lady's nose, swiftly rose to her feet as the lady began to cough, gradually regaining consciousness. "Cough... cough..."

Reassured by Elynea's response, Dean let out a sigh of relief. "Yeah, she should be fine."
