Allynna, who was deep in thought about her friend Lizzy, was surprised to hear Leon finally speak to her. She turns her gaze, looking at him.
A smile appeared on her face before she answered, "Easy. Thank you, sir..." Allynna was referring to Leon, who, somehow, had transferred the history lesson into her mind.
Even though Allynna felt that she had cheated on the final history exam earlier, she felt grateful to this man who had given her a sense of calm and some knowledge. He deserves a thank you from her.
"That's good," Leon said, his gaze still focused on the street.
"Sir Leon, thank you so much."
Leon glances at her, "You don't have to say thank you two times, Miss Allynna."
Allynna silently gulped when their eyes met. She didn't expect him to suddently look at her. "No, I mean... I thank you because you came to pick me up," she said awkwardly while squeezing her own hand on her thigh and swiftly turning her gaze ahead, hiding her blushing face.
Leon didn't respond to her words; he returned his focus to the road while driving his car at a moderate speed.
Meanwhile, Allynna, who was used to this man who rarely spoke, no longer said anything. Along the way, she was silent, but her thoughts were not.
Not long after, the silence in the car was broken when Allynna's cell phone vibrated. She saw Lizzy's name appear on her cellphone screen. She hesitated to answer. Leon could definitely hear her conversation with Lizzy if she picked up the call, right?
And Allynna knew Lizzy likely wanted to talk about the man who picked her up just now. She tried to ignore the call, but the vibrating sound didn't stop.
'Gosh, Lizzy!! Can you stop calling me!?' She scolds Lizzy in her heart.
"You can pick it up. Don't mind me." Leon's voice surprised her.
Allynna looked at him to see if he was serious or not. When she saw him nod at her, she immediately picked up the phone, but the moment the phone was connected, she could hear Lizzy's voice asking her many questions, like a rapper.
"Ally, who is the man who picked you up? Is that man your family!? Where does he live? Which villa are you staying at? Tell me the address, I just want to make sure—"
Allynna was rendered speechless. She pulled the cell phone away from her ear. After hearing Lizzy's voice sound calm, she returned the phone to her ear.
"Lizz, can you speak slowly? What do you want to know?" Allynna asks while glancing at Leon. She was relieved because he was not bothered by Lizzy's loud voice, which nearly damaged her eardrums.
"Who is the HOT guy who picked you up?" Lizzy asked. This time, she sounded less hasty and a little gentler. But Allynna felt like digging a hole to hide. She was embarrassed to hear Lizzy's question.
How could she answer that? The HOT guy is now sitting next to her. He might hear her answer, right!?
Allynna silently gulped, feeling confused. She couldn't answer Lizzy. This is not the right time for Lizzy to know about Leon's identity as her fiance. She will explain to Lizzy later in the capital. And when Leon is not around.
"Ally, are you still there? Why do you keep silent!? Did you hear me right? Ally?"
"I hear you, Lizz..." Allynna says softly.
"Who is the HOT guy!? Please don't try to hide it from me, Ally..." Lizzy, who has talent as a police officer in investigating cases, will not stop until she spills the truth.
Allynna glanced at Leon again. To her surprise, he was now looking at her. She could see his eyes radiating seriousness there.
"Tell her the truth," Leon's low voice rang like a cello in her ear. She stared at him with mixed emotions as if she didn't believe this man wanted to expose their relationship to Lizzy.
'Are you sure?' She asked him through her mind.
After seeing his nod, she finally told Lizzy the truth, "He's my fiancé—" The moment she said 'Fiancé,' Allynna could feel her blood rushing, making her heart beat faster.
"WHAT!! Your Fiance? How could it be? Since when were you engaged? Why do I never know about it?" Lizzy bombarded her with a series of questions.
Allynna can feel right now her friend must be in shock. Not only Lizzy but her, too. She also feels surreal about what she just said.
"Lizz, sorry I can't hear your voice. I think my connection is not good now. I will call you again later, alright!? Bye, Lizz—" Allynna ended the call and turned off her cell phone. She will call Lizzy again once she arrives.
After finishing talking with Lizzy, Allynna didn't dare glance at Leon. She just stared silently out the window, hoping Leon wouldn't ask her anything. She didn't know why, but at that moment, she felt embarrassed to start talking.
Soon, the vehicle finally stopped.
Allynna excused herself to Leon and walked quickly into the mansion. She saw Lella already standing waiting for her.
After arriving in her bedroom, she asked Lella to leave her.
She rushed to the bathroom and was surprised to see her face. She was right. Her face turned red now. She looked like she'd been wearing blush on her cheeks.
Allynna splashed her face with cold water, trying to lower her body temperature. After a while, she managed to control her racing heart. But the thought of Leon holding her hand and hugging her made her face turn red again.
She patted her cheeks with both hands, "Ally, what are you thinking? Why do you always get strange reactions around him? Can you act normal in front of him?" she couldn't help but scold herself.
...
After changing her clothes, she put on a comfortable home outfit. She sat casually on the sofa while turning on her cell phone. She had to call Lizzy. Otherwise, she couldn't focus on studying and sleeping tonight.
"Lady Allynna Frost, you finally called me." Lizzy gently greeted her, but in Allynna's ear, she could feel her best friend wanting to skin her alive. Allynna could only smile. "Since when did you have a fiance?" Lizzy continues.
"Oh please, can you be more patient, please? Can we talk about this tomorrow?"
"Little lady, of course not!"
"Gosh! Why do you sound like my mother?" Allynna chuckled.
"Lady Allynna, I'm pretty sure your mother would scold you too if you suddenly got engaged to a stranger without them knowing." Lizzy paused before continuing her words, "Well, maybe after your mom scolds you, she'll forgive you right away because that stranger is so damn hot and handsome!" She giggled.
Allynna, "..."
"I'm just joking around with you, Lizz. He is not my finance, but he is my relative." Allynna lied. She didn't know how long she would stay by his side.
Besides, Allynna was too tired of dealing with Lizzy, who was like a cop interrogating her about Leon. She is just trying to play safe by saying Leon is her family.
"Gosh, Allynna!! You really have talent as a movie star. You sounded very serious earlier, and I was sold to believe you..." Lizzy laughed. It was hard for her to believe that Allynna, who had never left the island, suddenly had a fiancé.
Allynna could only hold her laughter, hearing Lizzy's reaction.
"So Ally, can I know that HOT guy's name? Does he have a girlfriend? Can you introduce me to him?" Lizzy was excited when she learned that such a perfect man was Ally's family. She had a chance to get close to him and tried to hit the guy to be her boyfriend.
Lizzy smiles widely, imagining the man to be her boyfriend.
Allynna, "..."
She had hoped to be free from Lizzy, but Lizzy was becoming increasingly curious about Leon. Now, she remembers her mother's lessons, "Never lied to anyone."
Allynna feeling regretted lying to Lizzy.
"I'm sorry, he's so weird and doesn't seem to like women. That's why I rarely had a conversation with him." Ally said. "Ugh, sorry, Lizzy, I have to go now... I need to practice my math," She makes an excuse to end the phone call.
Talking to Lizzy for too long made her head feel like it would explode.
Allynna was upset with herself for lying to her best friend. But she has no choice. She doesn't want to tell her close friends about her relationship with Leon. Well, at least not now.
As soon as she finished talking to Lizzy, Allynna heard a knock on the door. Not long after, she saw Lella come into the room and remind her to come downstairs for lunch.
Allynna immediately went to the dining room. But she did not see Leon sitting where he used to sit.
For some unknown reason, Allynna felt sad not to see him. She turned to Lella, who was standing not far from behind her.
"Lella, where is Sir Leon?"
"Mr. Leon has business outside, so he can't have lunch with you."
Allynna could only nod slightly. She sat in her chair and started eating her lunch.
Today's lunch is seafood. After seeing the food on the table, Allynna immediately forgot about Lizzy's matter. She started eating her lunch while her mind imagined the chef cooking skillfully and guessing all the spices used.
After two days without entering the kitchen, Allynna wanted to enter the kitchen in this mansion and see the chefs preparing their food.
"Lella, can you bring me to the kitchen?"
Lella immediately refused firmly. The kitchen was only for those servants and staff on duty, and this house had an unwritten rule: Lady Allynna was forbidden from entering the kitchen.
"Who made such a rule?" Allynna was confused when she heard that.
Lella didn't answer right away. She lowered her head to avoid Allynna's sharp gaze.
"Lella, can you tell me? You don't have to be afraid. I won't tell anyone that you told me," Allynna said softly as if she was trying to persuade a little girl.
Lella finally spilled the name to her.
Allynna couldn't help but chuckle when she heard Geoffrey forbid her from entering the kitchen. She knew it wasn't Geoffrey who was really forbidding her. The order must have come from Leon. Geoffrey himself would not have dared to do that.
She was confused as to why Leon forbade her from entering the kitchen. Didn't he actually send her groceries a few weeks ago, as if asking her to cook them herself?
But why is he banning her from the kitchen now?
Allynna was puzzled. She had so many questions that she wanted to ask Leon. However, she has to wait until he returns.
...
When lunchtime was finally over, Allynna walked out the door towards the beach. The sun is shining brightly, but the wind that blows feels chilly. The white sand that feels smooth when stepped on makes her want to walk barefoot.
"Lady Allynna, the sun is so hot you will burn your skin if you don't wear a hat," Lella, who followed behind her, started to panic when she saw Allynna walking towards the beach. And when she saw her take off her shoes, she was even more shocked. She tried to convince her to wear a hat and beach sandals, but Lady Allynna ignored her.
After thinking, Lella ran into the mansion to find a beach hat and sandals for Lady Allynna.
Meanwhile, Allynna is enjoying the beach alone.
There was no one else on the beach. As her feet stepped on the seawater, she felt them cold. She started picking up some pretty sea shells.
Not long after, she saw Lella running towards her, holding a beach hat and beach sandals.
"Lella, you don't need to worry. I'm used to playing on the beach. I'm not afraid of the sun or the hot sand. My skin will never change even if I'm exposed to the sun for a long time," Allynna explained to Lella, trying to calm her.
Allynna is fully aware that she has unique — free-of-maintenance skin. Since childhood, her skin has never changed. She always looks pearly bright, no matter how long she busks in the sun. Her cheeks often blush, but the color will return to normal again.
"My Lady…" Lella handed her a hat and sandals, ignoring her reason. She can't bear it if something happens to her skin; his Highness will scold her.
Allynna felt sorry for Lella, who was still panting after running from the mansion to the beach. She didn't say anything else besides accepting the hat and sandals from Lella.
