“I am,” Calian replied after sipping on the wine.

He felt his magic humming deep within him as the wine was absorbed into his system, and it quickly amplified the vitality of his magic. Phoebe beamed widely at him.

“Good.”

“Yeah.”

The two of them were quiet for a moment. Then Phoebe tapped Calian lightly on his thigh.

“Are you on the prowl tonight?”

Calian chuckled. “Yes. Am I that obvious?”

“No. On the outside, your facial expression is neutral, and your body language doesn’t give anything away, but I know you well enough by now. Besides, it’s close to that time of the year.”

Calian laughed even louder. “True.”

“Well, good luck then.”

“Thanks.”
