“Tell me if this sounds plausible,” Craig continued. “Cameron escaped from the coca farm on the morning of January fourth. Whoever was is charge there radioed Ortega to get help in tracking her. The bastard sent one of our own copters to track her down.” He looked across the desk into Wendell’s eyes. Was he thinking the same thing? That it would be ironic? To put Cam in a coca farm would be the ultimate irony.
“They were looking for her,” Wendell assured them. “That has to be it. The copter has heat-seeking capability. That’s why they were flying the grid. They were looking for someone. It had to be her!”
Maggie took a deep breath. “Yes, it sounds like something Cameron would do. Do you suppose they found her?” she asked.
“Definitely,” Wendell stated. “The copter would have been there longer if they hadn’t.”
