Angel merely sailed past me, ignoring my pleas for answers. He had a look of pure joy about him, one that I recognized. I almost didn’t need him to tell me what had happened, however I wanted to hear it from him.
I chased after Angel to my room and found him on the bed, staring straight up at the ceiling with a goofy smile spread across his face. He didn’t even turn to look at me as I entered and practically stood over him.
“So, are you going to tell me where you were all night?”
“You got the note, right?” Angel asked, still not looking at me. “Then you should have all you need to know.”
I wanted to respond to his snark, but all I could hear was my mom’s voice in my head telling me how much of a smartass I am. But I didn’t think I was that bad. At least I hoped I wasn’t
Since I didn’t know what else to do, I channeled my mom and just ran with it.
