The “it” Carmen was referring to was the “spell” that Francesca had given me. Carmen just assumed that I had already burned the leaf or whatever and figured that’s why I was confident enough to set up a date with Kevin.

“It’s just too weird,” I yelled back. The wind was making it a bit hard to hear. “This whole thing just creeps me out. Besides, he hasn’t even called me back yet.”

“Well, it’s only been a couple of hours, there’s still time.” That was my sis. Always hopeful when it came to my dating life.

“Yeah, but maybe it was a bit too soon. I should have waited a couple of days.” I, however, am not so positive when it comes to love. Especially after all that has happened. I couldn’t stop thinking about the dream I had before, and more importantly, about the box that still sat in the back of my room that possibly held all the answers.
