Minutes passed as he watched each person that went by. Some acted as if they didn’t even see him, others saw, but didn’t care, but there were those that parted with their hard-earned money with a sad look in their eyes, and a smile that told him that they were glad to help. From them he got a few cents that slowly added up to a hot dog and a Coke.

And this was Dante’s life for a short time—until he met Fate Ferguson.
