“What’s that?” Hank asked. “Is someone there?”

“No, sorry, I’m just arguing with the…uh…cat.” Fortunato looked up at me. He didn’t know his name, but he knew the word “cat.” He blinked. I got many middle of the night phone calls, but he was rarely mentioned. What if Hank would make a good boyfriend?I silently pointed out to Fortunato. He closed his eyes and went back to sleep.

There was another issue. I’d already dealt with two cases of insomnia that evening, which meant two showers, two changes of underwear, and being twice as sore from being fucked than normal. If I wasn’t going to sleep, I needed to do laundry. How to handle this?
