André and Roland were in their two-bedroom suite relaxing on the recliners placed there for a future wet nurse. Alpha La Marche said it was the children’s wing.

“Ian’s going to be difficult to convince to let down his guard and love our Alpha,” André said as he swirled his brandy around his snifter.

Roland stared at him in shock. “Are you saying that our Alpha isn’t loveable?”

“No, quite the opposite in fact. It’s going to be difficult because our Alpha is too loveable despite his formidable temper. No, Alpha Mate will fall in love and then try to leave because he was made to believe he isn’t good enough.” André peered out the window.

“Are you going to give the Alpha the benefit of your insight?” Roland teased and threw a pillow at the back of André’s head.

André threw the pillow back, and then got serious. “I may have to when the time comes, or I’ll have shirked my duty as a Beta.”
