Chapter 30: Talented in acting
Just a moment ago, Leonard was seen descending the stairs after tidying up his casual shirt which was wrinkled due to the rough removal from his body. Especially when he feels very annoyed at the figure of a woman who always makes him excited because he only wears a towel to his chest.
During the walk, he was busy cursing in his heart because he felt very angry at Arabella who was considered only as a temptress.
'Arabella is nothing more than a cheap woman who pretends behind her innocence, when in fact she annoys me. It's so annoying, I almost fell into that cheap woman's trap,' Leonard cursed in his mind.
The thought of almost betraying Ayumi, made him feel very angry and a little relieved that his little friend who was secretly loved had thwarted his evil. "Ayumi's luck came and I didn't betray my true love."
Just when Leonard was overjoyed that he was finally able to get Ayumi and marry her, now a big smile appeared on his lips. Replacing a sour face and pursed lips when he was wrapped in anger when he was near Arabella. He considers Arabella like fire, while Ayumi is like water that can quell all her anger.
How not, when he saw Ayumi's beautiful face who always smiled sweetly at him, it always made him melt and fall in love with the woman of Japanese descent. Moreover, the glowing white skin seemed to dazzle his eyes, making him even more fascinated when he looked at Ayumi's beautiful face.
Leonard, who couldn't wait to see Ayumi, had now walked through the room in his very spacious house, heading towards the dining table. He could even faintly hear a woman with a sweet voice talking to her parents.
As soon as his footsteps entered the dining room, the first sight he saw was the sweet smile of his lover who was currently waving when he saw her.
"Leonard, what took you so long? What are you doing upstairs?" asked Ayumi who immediately turned her attention to the figure of a man with a firm jaw smiling at her. She had waited long enough for Leonard to come down from the second floor, thinking that the man who was considered her own brother was taking a shower.
However, saw no sign of Leonard having taken a shower as she looked so disheveled like a waking face. Ayumi was just busy guessing what Leonard was doing.
Meanwhile, Leonard, who couldn't wait to approach Ayumi, now stepped his long legs towards the chair to the right of the beautiful woman and he, who didn't stop smiling, kissed the white cheek which he thought was very adorable.
"Why, do you miss me? So, go here early in the morning," said Leonard who was now smiling with a smirk because he managed to give Ayumi a kiss on the white cheek before landing his body on the chair. Ignoring the gaze of his parents who just shook his head and he now raised two fingers to form a peace symbol while chuckling.
"Father and mother must have been young, right? So, please understand the behavior of these young people who fall in love with each other." Leonard winked and smirked at the woman sitting to his right. Then turned to his parents.
Meanwhile, Ayumi, who never expected to get a kiss that meant nothing to her, only gave a faint smile. Of course she just thought the kiss was meaningless. More precisely thought it was just a form of affection from her brother.
'I already treat Leo like a brother to me. Even when he kissed me once, I didn't feel anything at all. How can I tell Leo that I just want him to help me? He looks like he really loves me. If I now tell the truth about a plan that only wants to cancel the arranged marriage from my parents, how could he possibly want to marry me?'
'Looks like I have to postpone until the wedding happens, then just tell him,' Ayumi muttered, acting coyly like an innocent virgin who had just fallen in love.
Meanwhile, Leonard's parents, especially the mother, now look very happy to see the interaction of their son who looks very happy with Ayumi. Without even thinking, he strongly agreed on the relationship of the two people who she thought were very compatible.
"Mother was once young like you, my dear, but not in the old days, how dare you do things like you. When you meet them, just sit apart and talk normally. It's not like you who stick together like postage stamps. That's why nowadays there are many women who get pregnant before marriage. You can't be like that, Leonard!"
Naylasari glared at the figure of her son who she thought was too attached to Ayumi. Although she strongly agrees that her son is married to Ayumi, she doesn't want the good name of their big family to get worse in the eyes of people. Especially after her son was in prison and became blasphemy by people.
On the other hand, the figure of a man who is none other than the head of the family in the house confirmed the words of his wife who had accompanied him for more than thirty years in joy and sorrow by lifting his thumb.
"Listen to what your mother has to say, Leonard. You can't go overboard with Ayumi because I don't want the good relationship that exists between our family and Ayumi's family to deteriorate just because of your attitude."
It looks like Leonard who this time doesn't want the misunderstanding to get bigger, he chooses to reveal his plan that was arranged last night. "Father and mother don't need to worry because I won't mess with her. Besides, I ...." Leonard paused for a moment because now he landed his palm on the back of Ayumi's hand and didn't forget a big smile formed on his lips.
"After all, we loved each other and decided to get married. In fact, the reason why Ayumi came to Jakarta was that. Isn't that right, dear?" asked Leonard who was now directing his loving gaze at the figure of a woman with a beautiful face that made him feel very infatuated.
Ayumi reflexes without thinking, confirming all the words of the man who is currently next to her by acting as cute as possible. Shows that she is currently feeling very happy, even though she really just wants to take advantage of her little friend to cancel the arranged marriage of her parents.
"Yes, Leonard is right, Uncle and Aunt. Would you agree if we, originally best friends, decided to get married?" Ayumi asked Leonard's parents and showed a hopeful face.
'It seems I'm very talented when it comes to acting. They don't know that I'm only using it for my own happiness,' Ayumi muttered, now frowning as she looked at the door. 'Who is she?'
