Chapter 3: Glass bead
"Again" the woman continued
"You said you have never seen us before, are you sure about that?"she paused to get a reaction from Hilde. But the latter just looked on blankly.
"We've always been with you, anytime you looked into any body of water you saw us in there. You just didn't pay any attention"
Hilde gave it a thought before she remembered why she stopped swimming. She was a very good swimmer until she started to feel the presence of other people when she was alone in the water. It had almost driven her insane which forced her to quit swimming. 'So I was right after all' she thought. This was starting to make sense.
"So you know me. Then who are you? Were you really the one that time?" she said hurriedly.
"You seem to doubt what you are seeing, it seems like you are not ready yet" she said.
"Take this" she said pulling out a glass bead
"When you are ready call me with this" Hilde collected the water bead a bit confused. 'Was she angry?' she couldn't help but think
"How do I call you?" she asked
"However you can" she said before disappearing.
Hilde woke up on her bed almost immediately. She couldn't help but feel a little disappointed with the way the night ended. Was she being delirious?
She sat up straight and looked at her all too familiar room with a blank expression before saying to herself
"Another dream I should take note of the movies I watch before sleeping" she tried getting out of bed before her eyes caught something it was the glass bead.
Meanwhile in college Oliver was experiencing the life he would have to get accustomed to in the next following years. Today was like any other day for him.
After his lectures he went back to the apartment he shared with Nelson who was just another weird character.
During Oliver's first few days he had always been trying to intimidate him over and over again until Oliver told him to his face that he wasn't scared of him. That day he didn't know where his sudden boldness came from. He was just frustrated because he has always been provoking him so he shouted at him challenging him to do his worst since he wasn't scared.
Hell, that was something he never thought he could do especially to a senior. But one never truly knows what they are capable of except they lift their limitations. Nel had just laughed that day making him wonder what was funny. And surprisingly he started to talk to him.
Today Nel also wanted to introduce him to one of his friends.
Oliver thought of calling his sister since they're were going outside the school but she didn't answer the call.
Later that day they both went to the restaurant they had planned to meet Nel's friend.
When they arrived his friend who even had a more terrifying aura than him was already sitted there. They ordered for drinks and sat down. Oliver was really feeling bad now because he couldn't drink alcohol. 'Mistake, it was a mistake coming here' he thought.
There was a long silence until Nel said
"Hyde this is my roommate Oliver. Oliver this is Hyde"
"N-nice to meet you" Oliver replied amidst coughs. His face was slowly turning red. 'My sister would grill me if she saw me like this. From now on I will try to avoid this trouble called Nelson' he couldn't help but think.
Hyde who heard his thought smirked before commenting.
"He looks smart" he said turning to Nel who was trying to suppress his anger because of what Oliver said. 'That brat'
"Haha, didn't I tell you he is very intelligent" Nelson said laughing even though he didn't mean it. It was better than giving himself away. Oliver who had no idea looked up teary eyed at the both of them wondering what was funny.
They chatted about random stuff with Hyde only nodding quietly and Nel doing ninety percent of the talking for a while.
Oliver started feeling a bit comfortable with them even though his subconscious kept sending danger signals to him.
He decided to ignore it until he saw a kind of tattoo on their arm.
It was normal to have tattoos but this one felt strange it was a drawing of a drop of water falling into a large body of water it was like he could see through their skin.
Then he realized that they only ordered for five bottles but Hyde and Nel had been drinking like since forever. He started feeling dizzy and suddenly everything became blank
