Chapter 7: Chapter 7: Beginning of Hell

"Sir, please train me to become stronger," said Z with an expectant look in his eyes.

"Do you have the will to endure countless challenges?"

"Yes, sir!"

"What will you do with the power you will gain throughout your adventure?"

"I will... I will... I do not know sir!... But, I know that I want to see the world, I want to know what is beyond this cage. I want to see what is outside this, and the outside of that as well. And to do that, I need power!"

"HAHAHA! Are you really a kid? Hahaha! Since your resolve is strong, let us begin your training. This is the beginning of hell, are you ready?"

"Yes, Sir!" Shouted Z, with excitement and gusto

Then, the training began. The old man first taught Z how to manipulate the world's energy throughout his body.

"Remember, speed is essential. If the energy travels from your core to your arm slower than a snail then what is the point?"

"Sir what is a snai--Ouch!" He cried as his legs were hit by a stick.

"Focus! Defend the part I am about to hit with world energy!"

"But you are not saying where you are going to hit..."

"You idiot! Do you think a beast will tell you the part to which they'll bite you!?"

"Ouch!" He was hit in the belly.

This continued for the rest of the day until late at night.

"Eat this" as the old man handed a fruit the size of an average person's hand to him. "This will replenish your energy and alleviate your hunger."

"Thank you, sir" said Z who was slumped down and visibly exhausted.

An entire month passed by--

"Good Job!" praised the old man, as Z mastered control over world energy.

Granted, it was not that fast yet but it was a significant improvement over his previous state. He can now defend the hits of the old man.

"Thank you, sir"

"Now that you know how to control your energy, it will be easier for you to move into the next stage." "Now, sit down and concentrate. Feel the world energy around you. It should resonate to the energy already inside you."

Z, followed the old man and absorbed the world energy around him. From the pores all around his body, he directed the scattered energy to his core.

"Good! You will do this every night instead of sleeping."

"Yes, si--what?? Instead of sleeping?"

"Don't worry. World energy you absorb will replenish the energy lost in your body and will serve as sleep. It would be awfully tedious and boring but it will be worth it."

"Yes, sir!" said Z with a not so excited tone.
