Chapter 128: Chapter 128

Alvin stayed absolutely still for a few more minutes, just to be sure. As an outstanding Hunter, he had the patience and skills to play dead in front of cautious prey, or large predators. Alvin could hear sounds of clashing and banging all around the factory, which he assumed was Blondie, and maybe a couple of companions of his running from the Baron of Corruption and the other Beyonders who had sealed off the factory.

Alvin quickly removed the red ring mystical item from his finger. His fractured ribs and arms were far better now, but he was feeling the urge to go out and start fighting any one of the Beyodners out there. Thankfully, the side effect was barely controllable and Alvin was able to press it down.

Alvin looked around, considering his options. The factory was still unsafe, as the Beyonders had probably used some measures to seal the factory. If he wasn't able to escape the factory immediately, the Baron of Corruption and his companions would make short work of him once he was detected. Plus, Blondie obviously was after the safe, and had made some degree of preparation. It was better to let him distract the other Beyonders in the factory.

Hence, he decided to go back into the tunnel, to the underground room with the gunpowder.

While there was a Sequence 6 Judge, and another Beyonder there, there was also a Werewolf and some unknown Beyonder. He could probably attempt to escape via the tunnel if they were distracted fighting each other.

Worse comes to worst, he could detonate the whole place. Knowing that he would be in close proximity to enough gunpowder to level the factory, he borrowed 3-031 from Gordon last night. The impact would still hurt him, but he could probably survive if he found appropriate cover.

Alvin quickly reached the gunpowder room, and looked in. There was no one here. He looked around, from the traces he saw, concluded that the other Beyonder who was in here had jumped into the tunnel and had gone looking for the Sequence 6 Judge, while the Baron of Corruption went after Alvin.

After making sure that no one was around, Alvin made a bold plan. He pulled out the shrunken Red Castle from his jacket pocket, enlarged it to its regular size, opened it up and started stuffing crates of gunpowder inside it.

After this incident, the black market dealers, and specifically the Baccardi Gang, would lose a stable supply of gunpowder from this channel. While he was sure that they had other channels, and someone would help them open up another channel in the near future, for a short while at least, supply would be lesser and the price was likely to go up. And the sellers would also probably be more cautious and give up selling larger amounts, thanks to the Red Knife Gang that undoubtedly will be screwed. Just in case he needed gunpowder for something in the future, he thought it would be good to stock some supplies.

And since he was planning to torch the whole place down soon, the missing gunpowder wouldn't attract any suspicion, as they would be thought of as having been burnt.

After taking close to a fourth of the available gun powder, Alvin then piled most of the gunpowder crates at the openings to all three of the exits. He then stuck his head into the opening that led outside, and carefully tried to assess the battle situation.

He could hear yelling, yowling and screaming from deep within the tunnel. He was about to step in and take a better look, when he heard the audible sounds of someone running up the tunnel. He quickly threw himself to the ground, and laid in ambush. After a few seconds, the man who was waiting in the gunpowder room before with the Baron of Corruption climbed out. He now looked ragged, and seemed to have suffered several scratches all over him. Alvin, without thinking, kicked him back down. He then kicked a few crates of gunpowder down after him, and pulled out his revolver to fire at him. He didn't believe this would hurt him, he just did it to see if the Sequence 6 Judge could briefly disengage with the Werewolf and save this man, and if so, how close he was.

"Using any means to start a fire is prohibited here" came a deep voice from inside the tunnel in ancient Hermes. Alvin wasn't able to fire the gun after being this, and quickly withdrew, as the voice of the Judge was quite close by.

He stood close to the tunnel that led to the trap door under the huge machine, and waited. After a brief moment, the guy he kicked down, and a majestic man with a Goatee jumped up from the opening. They did not start still through, as they quickly moved away from the tunnel and stood a small distance away. Very soon, a few dark tendrils started being emitted from the opening, and following behind it were two wolfish figures.

They too went away from the opening, and the there parties stood a small distance away from each other, looking at the other cautiously.

"Who are you both?" shrieked the man standing behind the Judge.

"I belong to the Rose School of Thought, and we are taking a portion of this gunpowder" said the male Werewolf.

The Judge stayed silent. The man behind him kept shrieking, "Were you the assholes that stole from us before?"

The Werewolf gave him a disdainful glance, and looked at Alvin.

"Why do you have a tool that belongs to the Machinery Hivemind?" he asked.

"Isn't it obvious? I work for them" said Alvin.

He then looked around at the Werewolf and Judge, who both showed caution and a tiny trace of fear, cleared his throat and said, "I don't want any of the gunpowder. How about you two hash it out? I'll get out of your face okay?"

The Judge and the Werewolf both took a step towards Alvin. Alvin thought, "Here goes nothing" and activated his second Steam-Pressure charm. The whole room was filled with steam, once again obscuring everyone's sight. Alvin did not doubt that they would be able to shrug it off after a few seconds, but the steam, while not a typical way to set a fire, and thus not prohibited by the Judge's Prohibition, was very hot, and just so happened to touch the gunpowder.

In the small delay, Alvin ran across the room and dived into the opening on the ground, and got into the tunnel. He barely got two good steps in when the entire place behind him exploded with a bang.
