pov: narrator
Slowly a light began to interrupt Thomas' conversation, who raised his hand looking for Gwen who was slowly moving away from him.
"no! don't go, please!"
What started with a scream leaving his lips, in the end was a whisper in supplication, only to open his eyes.
Thomas saw himself, lying on a gurney, in a white room.
"where am I?"
"you're finally awake."
a black man with a patch on his right side, spoke to Thomas calmly.
"who are you?"
"I'm Nick Fury, director of S.H.I.E.L.D."
Even more confused than before, Thomas sits up on the gurney, managing to see a cluster of wounds on his body which fail to heal completely.
"What is this organization?"
"We are a homologated system of intelligence, espionage, logistics and defense. We also keep in surveillance specific subjects out of the ordinary, you are an example and so is your friend."
Thomas began to look around, looking for a way to escape, but remembered at that moment.
"What happened to Gwen?"
"ho, her, you'll know when you answer my questions, do you think?"
Thomas nodded slightly, as she looked at him still looking for a way to escape.
"First let's talk about your abilities. What are they?"
"I don't know what you're talking about, I just know how to shoot with speed and accuracy."

Thomas decided to tell the truth, after all this situation was not favorable for him at any point.
"interesting, but in the encounter with that out of control entity, you managed to use extraordinary skills".
"I don't know what you're talking about."
Nick stood up at that moment and opened the door.
"follow me"
Thomas nodded and stood up, his torso was bare, but he still had his body under dressed normally, so it just came out that way.
"a long time ago abnormalities appeared in the world, people with gifts above normal, others who by experiments lose control, Gods and millionaires with a blessed brain."
Nick began to tell Thomas what was going on in the world.
"We decided to get together and they fight the battles that we could not win, we were not wrong, as time temporal fissures opened, otherworldly beings created from energy, giant robots and even beings outside our planet, became able to be controlled by them, The avengers were that group."
They both stopped in front of a camera, where Gwen in her costume was training with a man in sportswear.
"He is a super soldier, the first one created and was frozen much of his time, Captain America, as everyone knows, the group of heroes has the thunder god Thor, the genius philanthropist Tony Stark, Dr. Bruce Banner, Clinton Barton, Natasha Romanoff and lastly the newest member Scott Lang, after hearing this, they are the best people to teach you about your life, what do you say?"

"How many people will I have to kill?"
Thomas looked down at his hands at Nick's proposition.
"No one, you just have to protect people."
Those words created a gleam in Thomas' eyes.

"I accept, though I don't really know how to use these "gifts""
"you will know in time, now let's talk to the captain".
They both passed into the living room, where Gwen saw Thomas and ran to hug him.
"you're okay, you made me worried."
Thomas hugged her back, as he looked at the man who stood.
"Hi, I'm Steve Rogers."
Steve extended his hand with complete confidence and a smile to Thomas.
Thomas received it pleasantly and replied.
"I'm Edward Brown, although I like to be called Thomas."
Steve nodded calmly, then spoke again.
"So you'll both be our new members?"
Gwen looked to take and took his right arm.
"this is the best chance I have to get back to my world."
Then Thomas looked at her calmly.
"Yes, I also think it's a great opportunity, so let's go together."
She was surprised but smiled at Thomas, smacking his head.
"you are crazy, but let's go"
Steve couldn't help but smile seeing them like that, in his eyes you could see the sadness reflected, but he just asked them to follow him.
"Let's go to the barracks, where you will meet the rest of the team."
They both nodded to each other and were taken by a Shield vehicle to a building away from the city in a field.
"Nick will always name the team, as the ones everyone knows, but the truth is that we are a few more that are active or affiliated, other than that, you will meet most of them."
Soon they stepped out of the vehicle, the doors opened to give them passage to a main area, where people are welcomed.
"In the back, we have to go to the training field, hangar and even the laboratory. The rooms to rest and intern are between the second and third floor. We don't have much of the armory in a subway place, as various useful objects, there are also the Meeting rooms and other things."
They continued walking to the training area.
"Here is Natasha"
As soon as the door opened a baton flew in their direction, Steve held it, preventing it from reaching any of them.
Reddish hair in the air, combat uniform, various accessories.
"Natasha they are the new members to the team, Thomas a young man who still can't control his abilities and Gwen who possesses abilities like young Peter."
At those words, Gwen took a step back, but Thomas stopped her.
"Calm down, everything will be fine."
he spoke into her ear calmly, managing to keep Gwen from escaping, but Natasha had other plans.
"We need to see how the new guys' skills are. How about a showdown?"
Gwen nodded and was the first to move forward, it only took 10 seconds for Natasha to take her down, at that moment Thomas saw it, quick and balanced movements, all used to assassinate, though not this time.
Like a spider playing with its prey.
