"What happened?" Mar ignored him as he turned to face me.
"Nothing. I might have slipped on the water." I nervously smile, "it's okay." I slowly rose from the floor.
"You need to be careful. I don't want casualties in my office."
"Of course, I will." I turn to Salen, "you can make use of the toilet."
I made to leave, but Mar held my hand.
" Are you sure you are okay?"
"I am. You have no cause to be worried."
"And you think I'm worried?" He scoffed at me, "I want to make sure you won't die of eternal bleeding."
"Jeez!" I frown at him, "must you mention something like that?"
"And what should I mention?"
"Whatever, I'll be in my office." I remove his hand from my arm.
"I expect you to be in time for the project." He said as he watched me leave.
" Bye." Waving at Salen who's looking victorious, I walk out of the restroom.

"I hate him!" I tug my hair in frustration. "I hate him!"
"Who? Who do you hate this much?" Dozzy raised a brow at me.
"Salen." I sit on my chair, "I feel like ripping him off."
"Who's he?" He took a bite from the burger in his hand.
"The new business partner of the company."
"The one BB said is the most handsome man she has ever seen?" He quirked a brow, "you have to see how she talked about him as if he put the stars in the sky.
I've not seen him, but I think he is handsome based on BB's description."
" Handsome?" I scoff at his words.
"He's not handsome?" Dozzy widened his eyes. He looks comical with how big his eyes are.
"I don't know." I frown in anger, "he might be handsome, but he has a shitty character!" I tug my necktie.
Balling my hand into a fist, I imagined punching him squarely in the face.
"What did he do?"
I told Dozzy everything that has happened ever since Salen made an appearance in this company.
"That's shitty, man." Dozzy took another bite of his burger, Hastily ate it, and turned his attention to the remaining burger.
"You see, this is the reason I feel like banging his head on the wall."
"Why don't you tell the boss? You can't go ahead, enduring all these in silence." He ate the last of his burger.
"I would have done that, but I'm afraid Mar won't listen to me should I do so. He might feel as if I'm trying to frame Salen."
That's one of my fears.
Mar might make it seem as if he doesn't like Salen, but there's no telling how he feels.
"You don't know what the boss thinks unless you tell him. You can't keep silent about this."
"I'm trying not to." I stood from the chair, and walk towards my window. "I want to avoid being humiliated by the boss. I think I've had enough of that to last me a lifetime."
"The decision you make determines what happens. You can't allow Salen to treat you however you like. He might be influential, but that doesn't give him the right to treat you anyhow he wants."
His words made a lot of sense, but I don't think I'm going to do what he asked me to do. Enduring the treatment from Salen is easier and much more endurable than making Mar doubt my credibility.
I made my decision as I watched people walking about.
" Have I told you the good news?" I suddenly turn to Dozzy.
"Good news?" He frowned, "the only words I've heard from you ever since I came in here are your rantings about the so-called Salen. You've not said anything about good news."
That was my most pressing problem.
" Mar asked me to be his Personal Assistant." I walk back to my chair and plopped down with a sigh.
"A person assistant?" His eyes widened at that, "you don't mean this."
"Do I look like I'm joking?"
" But you are leaving in a week!"
"About that, I don't think I'm leaving anymore."
" Why? What happened? I thought you were eager to be through with your work?"
" I think I'll stay here for a short while. Mar asked me to be his Personal Assistant, I can't just leave."
"The Osy who was eager to leave wouldn't have minded about that fact." He smirked, "don't tell me your heart has turned pink for the boss." He wiggled his brows at me.
"What do you mean?"
"You seem —" The ringing of my office phone perfectly cut him off.
My heart skipped a bit.
"Hello." I picked up the phone, resisting the urge to smile.
"I want you in my office this instant." His voice washed over me.
"Why? What's the problem?" I stood from the chair in alarm.
"Be there in a minute." He said before he disconnected the call.
"I'll be back." I place the phone back.
"Where are you going to?" Dozzy raised a knowing brow.
"The boss called. He said —"
"What's the rush? You have never been this eager to go to answer his calls."
" What are you talking about?" I hit him on his head.
" You think you can hit the words off my mouth?" He chuckled to himself, "I know what I believe."
"Believe what you want. I'm off!" I run out of the office.
I can hear Dozzy's laughter in the elevator. But It did not faze me.
What I want to do right now is go to the office as fast as I can. Mar called me, it's fitting I answer the call.
I entered the elevator and pressed the key to his office.
The elevator hasn't taken this long in my entire life. It felt as if the office is located on Mars, and not in the same complex.
I don't know why I'm eager to go up there, but my heart is eager. Anything to see Mar is worth being eager about.
