The three bowed to Kai as soon as they noticed him, and Kai walked over to them casually.

"I'm about to leave the city. Did you have any business with me?". Kai asked with some curiosity.

"Mr. Kai, I would like to thank you for saving my nephew's life. I, Hou Peng, am eternally grateful to you.". Hou Zhou's uncle spoke first as he cupped his hands.

"Yes, most cultivators in your shoes would have likely killed me and hidden the body within that place considering our...unfortunate past. You are truly magnanimous!.". Hou Zhou quickly added.

Kai stood there dumbfounded by the entire ordeal. Sure, they attacked him, but it was under Chen Dou's orders as far as he was concerned. Kai had not sensed any hostile intent from them during that fight, so he didn't see the need to hold any grudges.

"Water under the bridge. However, if you feel that you must compensate me, I won't be able to refuse...". Kai said with an innocent smile.
