Chapter 17: Forewarning of Calamity
Pov Rick O'Connell
Rick was having a hard time, he was in indecision, so he was in a drinking bar with Jonathan because the woman he spent liking was wanting to go after the mummy he killed, so he's sure, even though he tried in every possible way to argue that they'd better leave town, and maybe even the country.
"Hey Jonathan has no way you talk to Evelyn again, as you and your brother must have some way of convincing her to go away, and try anything else and not try to go after curses and mummies." tried to argue with his possible future brother-in-law. And knowledge of people who are in love has a certain part of his reasoning in decline, so part of the reason that many people have experiences of situations lead him to certain rational choices, so Rick being in love with the woman who took him out of death, and being beautiful and intelligent, having willpower and knowledge leads him to do things that in a moment of rational he would not do, how to fight a supernatural creature in which he has no idea if he is alive or dead even after being shot.
"I'm very friendly, but she and so, see my situation just going after Hamunaptra because if not she would come alone, and a woman alone in this city and very dangerous, even more so with her being so clumsy. And when she decides she's going to do something she doesn't get it out of her head, so you better be prepared if you want something with her." Finished it half hopelessly you know, he's going to be dragged into it somehow. But since he only has his brother as a family, he loves her many certain things even against his will he will do for her.
The two men feeling sad about their fates that were intertwined with the woman's will decided to drown their bruises with a very strong drink.
After a few sips in the drink, virtually everyone who was at the bar stopped as if they were paralyzed, and just like the reflection they spat their drinks and began to complain in unison." What you did with our bartender drink, this is looking like blood, you son of a bitch."
Complaints like this and much worse began, and with many having different languages.
Rick and Jonathan having experienced the taste of blood and spittoons, were looking at this strangeness with wide eyes, for it reminded them of something that only in their wildest dreams appeared in their minds, which was written in Imhotep's sarcophagus, that when he was freed he would bring with him the plagues of Egypt that would thus plague the world with his presence.
And seeing firsthand that everything that was liquid was turned into blood, they run out of the city, where chaos was beginning to happen little by little.
"Jonathan we have to find Evelyn, because from what she said he spoke some name to her, so and able that he might be behind her as well."
"I understood, I will then look for those North Americans, and so join our forces because, if after all you have done and he is still alive, we have much to worry about." If this dialogue happened, they parted ways, and so they went to their respective targets.

Jonathan Pov:
Jonathan was scared, despite maintaining a strong façade, he still and a person who is afraid, but as he has to protect his sister, and only to rejoin others can face whatever that thing is. Going to the hotel they are staying at that moment and hears screaming toward the alley, and so many people are also looking in the direction, which at this point was a man covered, and with a mask of very scary appearance, and having a person who seems to be mummified on the floor.
Looking at such a strange situation and even more on the way I was to the hotel. And when everything was not enough to be strange, people appear from nothing, wearing strange clothes like the one who was wearing a mask.
Looking at a situation as strange as this, Jonathan decides to follow what he thinks are his instincts and hide in a safe place, see what happens and also then open some way to the hotel so he can talk to those Americans.
'That masked man is saying some strange things. I should listen to Evelyn and thus read more about the Language of ancient Egypt because then I could understand better and not these pieces of information.' Having thought about all this, and looking at the strangeness that was developing until a certain person seems to be translating everything about that conversation.
With his eyes wide open about the fact that that he was Imhotep, the mummy was already in such a situation and seems to be recovering. Jonathan was ready to leave, but as soon as that thought comes into mind, the group that appeared out of nowhere begins to argue, and so they parted ways, much of it did not decide to go along, because, by dialogue, this was against the ideology of many people in the group.
The group is separated, and getting a little behind Imhotep, and as if waiting only for this cue, most of the group of people who stayed because it has some codes of morality, begins to fight with Imhotep, and so pointing their stabs, this in Jonathan's conception, and thus leaving what seems energy releases towards Imhotep, who only raises his hands, and raises a wall of sand, and without letting them have response time, and sent back with great speed a wave of sand with the appearance of a sword, and thus cutting in half, some who did not have time to deflect or create a shield to protect themselves.
Jonathan seeing how things were going, decided he'd seen enough and would run away, along with the panic that people were doing would be easy, and so being able to escape and maybe find those people in the process.

Imhotep Pov:
"You have had your opportunity and so whoever does not come with me will be killed, and so will the world since I will be kings over it." Having people where he can get information about certain things and for him, that's a good start.
Those who didn't want to go with Imhotep didn't understand what he said, but they were sure that if they didn't fight everything, they're going to die here today.
And that way the fight started, a lot of people were running around trying to get out of a place where they're not understanding anything and also to save their lives, because any launch of whatever these people are doing is killing anyone who gets hit or hurt so that they can't escape and get paralyzed.
'These spells are certainly strange, especially with those little bags, something I'll have to learn about this era I'm in because on my way I'll have a lot of corpses of it I'm sure of.' And with that reflection, he was struggling and learning more like people in an era that he has little knowledge struggle with.
(I'm adding an overview of what's going on so that it can make it possible to have a bigger picture of the things in question, because not and just about the mummy but about a worldwide catastrophe that thus turns with many consequences.
