«Did they meet?» she asked her grandmother impatiently.

«I left him at the door, I didn't want to spoil their moment. But I'm sure they'll both be over the moon.»

«I hope my mom isn't too surprised… », she shook her head. «This isn't what matters now. We have a bigger problem.»

«Exactly. If Samuel notices her absence, he will find out there's something on our mind.»

«We have to free her.» Maryanne said reluctantly. «We have no other choice.»

«Yes, but first we have to manipulate her memories. Samuel told her to approach Byron to keep him away from me, and that's what she will do. I will continue my play with Percy. They have to believe they still have everything under control.»
