Chapter 17: Chapter 15 - An Unknown Anomaly
Nigo watched Zara's back till she disappeared out of sight. He turned around and headed outside the hallway.
When he got out of the section gate and he turned to look at the forest at the side, the forest spanned for as far as the eyes can see, it was used to house beast, wild spirits and also for training by users from the United Royal Institute.
Nigo turned and began to walk into the forest, people who saw him entering the forest thought he had gone mad. What would a cripple be going to the in a forest filled with danger except looking for death?
Nigo walked for some metres into the forest he followed a specific way of movement before coming to stop in front of a cave. The Cave was covered with shrubs and plants, so if you didn't look well enough you won't see it.
Nigo smiled when he saw the cave, it was because this was a place he was frequent with back then. He would come here once everyday before he met zara and Ejiro and also come here once in a while after he met them.
It was the one place they didn't know about because nigo comes here when he wants to be alone from everyone else to think and cry about his situation. No one had ever disturbed him here.
He had not been here since the term started because of his friends. hence, he didn't feel lonely or dejected, but now they were both away from him.
Nigo got closer to the cave and suddenly stopped, it was because he could sense someone's aura from inside the cave. He tip toed to the entrance of the cave to see who had found his hiding spot
Looking into the cave from a concealed spot, he saw a girl seated on a stone with her back to the entrance of the cave, from the looks of it she was around the same age as himself
The girl didn't take notice of him but he could sense a faint aura from her
"maybe she's injured" He thought to himself but he couldn't see any blood stains around.
Nigo tried to get a better view of the girl but tripped on a stone and fell to the floor.
Bang!
"Who's there!" the girl said while releasing all of her utility energy and pressure to scare the intruder, she didn't turn back to face nigo
Nigo quickly got to his feet and said "who are you and how did you find this place?"
The girls shoulder trembled slightly at his voice but nigo took notice of it.
"Aren't you afraid of death" the girl increased the pressure as she spoke. Cracks like webs began to flow from where she was seated to the wall of the cave.
Even the air within the cave stopped flowing due to the pressure but nigo was unaffected by it.
He looked at the floor of his beloved cave cracking and he became angry "You'd better stop that or you would cause this cave to collapse on both of us!" He shouted "By the way, no matter how much pressure you exert on the surrounding it won't affect me"
"Is that so?" The girl said and finally turned to look at nigo.
The moment their eyes met, both their gazes froze in place. The girl was as beautiful as a goddess, she has beautiful red hair and red eyes. Her face was smooth and like a doll carved by what no mortal or spirit could achieve even if they combined their heads together.
She wore a peach gown and red shoes, she also wore six red bangles around her wrist.
The girl froze because she thought nigo was a man who was a powerful user for him to be able to easily withstand her pressure but he was a boy around her age, who had a delicate and beautiful face, to make it worse he was a cripple?
"Are you a fairy" Nigo asked, this was the first time he had ever seen a person this beautiful in his life, not even zara was this pretty.
"Are you the one who was speaking to me a moment ago" she asked still in disbelief
"You haven't retracted your aura yet, do you want this cave to collapse on our heads, I mean you would survive it but I may die" Nigo said
The girl came closer to observe him carefully to see if he was using any device or user artifact to trick her perception but she didn't find anything.
Nigo was confused by her actions but he didn't let the fact that she had not retrieved her utility energy slide. he held her by the shoulder with both of his hands and brought his face closer to hers before saying "This cave may not be important to you but it is to me, so please stop your aura now"
The girl looked at nigo's silver eyes which was few centimetres away from her and blushed a little before saying
"You really do look like a girl, nigo"
"!!"
Nigo was shocked that the girl knew his name,he staggered backwards but didn't let it show on his face, his gaze remained calm.
The girl withdrew her aura and pressure and looked at nigo
"But this cave belongs to me, so you should backoff" She said
Nigo smiled before saying "And why should I leave my cave for you"
The walked closer to him "aren't you scared of death?" she asked again
"Why should I be afraid of a girl who's my agemate" Nigo didn't back down one bit
"I'm not like that brat Tadashi, you know" she replied in an enchanting tone
"!!" Nigo was surprised that she knew that he faced off against Tadashi earlier and also knew the outcome.
"Even if Tega was here to save you he won't be able to do anything" she paused and a menacing smile appeared on her face "or is your faith in those experts that are following behind you? I wonder"
"!!" Nigo was surprised by what she just said, she spoke about Tega like he was a not a threat to her. Not to mention that she could sense the experts who could hide their aura.
He cast her a suspicious gaze because her aura was different form that of a normal human. Was she a spirit? No that can't be the case because he had seen spirits before. nigo thought to himself
The only people who would know about the fight with Tadashi were students of the school and she was also around his age.she did talk about Tega like he wasn't anything to her. Not to mention from her aura earlier he could tell she was far powerful than Tadashi and there were only few people like that in the section infact, there was only one and her words from earlier matched the description of that person........wait don't tell me....
"Are you trying to figure out who I am?" She asked looking at the quiet nigo
"I already know" he said
"I knew you would figure it out, if you didn't I would've been disappointed" she said and turned her back to return to where she was seating
"What's your name" Nigo asked
"Aren't you more afraid of me taking the star flame you carry about in that bag of yours" she ignored his question "you may be the Guardian's son but you have to be more careful" she spoke like a senior advising a junior
"No one can take it from me even if they tried" Nigo said
"How did you find this cave and why have I never met you here?" he asked the question that had been on his mind
"It was a perfect hiding spot for me to stay away from the problems of the world" she said as her voice grew gloomy
"And what problems might that be?" Nigo asked, noting the change in her tone
"Never mind, I found this place the first day I arrived at the school and no one has ever bothered me here until today" she said
"I see..... so you have only come here since this term right"
"Yes i have"
"How did you find this place " she asked nigo
"This has always been my hiding spot and not even my friends know about it, I stopped coming here when this term started so that's why you haven't seen me here" Nigo said "I needed a place to think about everything that had happened to me and how to move forward so I came here only for me to sense another presence in this pla....." Nigo realised that he had said something that shouldn't be said
"!!!" The girl looked at him in surprise
"How can you sense some one when you have not awa....." she suddenly stopped as she thought of something.
She stood up to her feet and came close to nigo, grabed his wrist and closed her eyes.
"???" Nigo was confused by her actions so he asked "what are you doing?"
The girl opened her eyes looked at him then brought her hand forward and placed it on his chest. Nigo felt a warm energy fill his body but they disappeared after few seconds.
The girl brought her face closer to his and said "your Liaison core is Awakening"
"What!" Nigo said, that had to be a joke how would his liaison core be awakened without him using the flames from the star meteorite
"It is still Awakening but it is slow, you were exposed to a high amount of star meteorite flame in the past so it slowly awakened under such high purifying energy, though your liaison core is different from what I could observe. If it had been any other person they would have instantly awakened their core but yours is just too different" She said while looking at nigo with probing eyes
"And why is that? How is my core different" nigo asked
"I don't know but it is special, you should be able to tell already. Things that affect other liaison cores don't affect you, I even tried using my energy to fully awaken you core but I just couldn't" she said
"But don't worry even right now I can feel it slowly but steadily Awakening, due to that star meteorite flame you always carry with you. If you continue like this, in the next fifteen days to one month it would be fully awakened"
"And how can you tell all of this?" Nigo asked this was too good to be true and even if it was, why couldn't zara or granny chi tell?
"Because just like you I'm also special, you can tell can't you?" She said looking at nigo
Nigo felt his body jolt " A massive aura is heading this way" he said while looking outside the cave
"Heh, I already know" she said in a playful tone
"Then why aren't you running away?" Nigo asked
"Look who's talking, why aren't you running as well?" she replied with a question
ROARRRRR!
The earth shaking voice of a User beast resounded voice of a mountain warthog entered their ears
The stones around began to rise up in to the air as the beast appeared in sight about four hundred kilometres away
Huff!
It exhaled from its nose the moment it saw the two kids in the cave.
A glint of killing intent flashed in it's eyes the moment it located them
Surprisingly nigo and the girl were calm. Nigo turned to her and asked "should I call them or do you plan to take it out yourself"
The girl looked at him and a bewitching smile appeared on her face. She got up from where she was seating and disappeared from before him. She appeared three hundred kilometres away from him right in front of the mountain warthog.
ROARRRRR!!
It roared and covered it's body in an earth armour, the mountain warthog was a stone type of user beast so it could control earth
The armour covered it's body leaving only it's eyes and nose
BOOM!!
The ground shattered as a hole about ten kilometres appeared the moment it leaped towards the little girl.
The girl was calm and didn't even release any utility energy to protect her from the incoming attack, she didn't flee or make an attempt to dodge the attack either
She only brought her hand forward and struck it at the rampaging beast.
BANG! CRACK!
The beast collided with the girls hand and the piercing sound of bones shattering filled the air but the bones that shattered weren't those of the girl but that of the beast!
There was no shock wave of energy or wind whatsoever but
Crash!
The stone armour of the best scattered to pieces.
Pffffffft!
Blood shot out from every part of it's body.
SPLAT!
The beast exploded into a muddled blood as it's entire body was turned to paste.
Nigo who was watching from afar was shocked by such display of power, it was because the beast was in the Sea User Domain and she one shotted it like it was nothing
She snapped her finger and used utility energy to clean the blood from the area to prevent it attracting more user beasts.
After that she appeared before nigo and said with a gleeful smile "how did I do?"
Nigo looked at her and said "you are a monster"
She laughed and said "we're both monsters"
She looked nigo in the eye and said "I kinda like you"
"Huh" Nigo was surprised by those words "I don't know what you mean"
"You are different from those arrogant sons of powerful people I've met. So...." she paused and a shade of pink appeared on her pretty face adding more beauty to her "I have to go now and we may never meet again but if we ever meet again I will marry you" she said and instantly disappeared
"....??"
Nigo just stood there looking at the spot where the girl stood a moment ago dumbfounded, they had just met and he barely knew her so why the hell was she suddenly talking about marriage and at a very young age at that?
"Where in the world did she go?" He said to himself
