Chapter 22: Chapter 23

I sat in the car for a moment and just as he was about to start the car, I unfastened my seatbelt and got out of the car.

"Where are you going?" I heard Owen shout but I didn't turn to see him.

I just speed walked towards home.

He grabbed my arm and turned me around. The anger that I'd bottled up just exploded and I could feel my breaths come quicker.

"Where are you going? I thought you agreed to go with me?"

I didn't trust myself to speak so instead I just glared at him.

"Okay you're just sending mixed signals right now."

"Oh. I'm the one sending mixed signals?" I let out a humourless laugh. "You. You're the one playing games here. You're the one sending mixed signals." I placed my right hand over my forehead and the other on my hip. "You don't just kiss someone without a proper reason and expect everything to go back to normal."

"I told you why I did it so I don't know why you're getting your hopes up."
