Chapter 57: Cancelling the contract

Zi Mei is convinced that Thorin is using the demon attack as an excuse to get rid of her. Not that he needed an excuse to cancel the contract. He has the ultimate say since he is the one who came up with the contract. All this whole excuse of her smelling like him that attracted demons is probably to scare her into agreeing to cancel the contract.

"You are probably conspiring with the demons to scare me," she accused him, saying what she has suspected out loud. Thorin was not pleased with the accusation. In fact, he reacted with cold fury. His face twisted into cold red rage.

"How dare you accuse me of working with demons? Do you have any idea how insulting that is?" he asked, his tone dangerously soft and steely.
