Wipeout (3)

Moving throughout the camp was incredibly easy and it required no energy to hunt down every last soldier.

Bodies without heads, arms, and legs along with a lake of blood filled the building's floor.

With each passing second, the pleads and screams that once could shake the building became silent.

Not one soldier had died in an honorable way as their existence was nothing more than experience that I would be using to level up.

Dashing towards people practically became second nature as I performed elegant simple blows that would leave nothing left.

By the end of it, I had grown bored but a sinister smile remained on my face.

'It's no fun squashing bugs,' I concluded in my mind while letting out a sigh.

But now every last soldier had been executed and only one person remained standing among the countless bodies.

'Two.'

'One.'

Once I finished counting down instantly a force erupted from deep within the building.

'Seems like he finally got his senses back. I wonder, how should I deal with him? Ice? Fire? Or should I test how powerful essence is?' Thoughts ran wild in my mind as I questioned how I would kill the principal not even bothering to give sight to his entrance.

Walt, the principal, overseer, and military captain was the one in charge of the training camp.

He had spent close to seven years overlooking the facility after retiring from the front lines.

Walt had seen nearly all his comrades die and been through more than one hell.

His trams grew deep in his mind and he needed to rest as he planned to live out the rest of his life teaching the younger generations.

He had seen all kinds of young warriors and he had great pride in himself as he watched over them while they became strong warriors who would bring glory to their king.

But on this fateful day, it started out like any other where he watched over the recruits. They had come a long way from the children that they once were. Many were close to graduating and being able to serve in the military.

Walt was looking over the reports of some of the promising soldiers as their documents were scattered on his table.

He went to pick up some of the papers of a soldier just as he had done many times already when a dark, dreadful, menacing aura filled his senses with his camp.

Right under his nose, in his camp, an evil presence had appeared.

Not even taking a second to think Walt got up and rushed as quickly as he could to the training room where all the recruits were currently training.

Busting down the door which led to the open space, a scene that was indescribable filled his vision.

The young children that he looked after and grew along with as he watched them become stronger were nothing more than maimed corpses.

He saw the terrified expressions that captured their unwillingness to die still on their faces.

He saw the merciless ways that they had been killed as if they were nothing more than objects rather than respectable eager soldiers.

He saw the youngest new recruits that had just joined a few months ago lying in a puddle of their own blood.

He saw his commanders whom he considered to be the last of his close friends slaughtered without decency.

He saw the dark red which tainted the entire room.

Anger immediately filled his mind as rage took over, uncaring of anything else.

He suppressed the sorrow which crushed his heart and the deep regret that he was unable to protect his underlings.

Walt had no idea how the incident happened without his sense picking up on it. Yet, he didn't care, he wasn't even thinking anymore, all he knew was that he was going to make the person responsible pay with their life.

Dashing forwards Walt activated his reliable ability which allowed him to survive all those years against the beasts.

Influx: Transfer all defense to your fists.

This ability allowed him to not only keep his already overwhelmed strength but also completely remove all his defense and transfer it into power as mana wrapped around his fist.

Moving the fastest Walt has ever moved before he raised his mana-infused fist to strike the chest of the man who killed all his soldiers.

The strike connected perfectly as the perpetrator didn't even try to defend himself or dodge.

An eruption of mana spread throughout the enemy's body as he took the full force of Walt's punch.

A loud sound breaking noise filled the building and shook it dangerously.

A satisfied smile spread across Walt's face as he believed he had taken down the intruder.

Even though everyone was already dead so long as he avenged them some peace would be brought to his mind.

No man nor beast had survived the force generated by his ability before and especially now so since he knew there was absolutely no way someone could survive because he had grown much stronger since he was last on the frontlines.

Yet, disbelief didn't even manage to appear on his face, in fact, the satisfied smile that he thought to have shown actually never happened.

The reason being was that Walt was already dead.

So dead, that not even a simple droplet of blood marked his existence on the planet.

'What the fuck?' I thought to myself as I watched the principal that was once shooting towards me vanish.

At first, I thought he got teleported away or something but a notification from the system confirmed his death so I couldn't help but look at his suicidal ability to discover what had happened.

'Sacrifice defense for offense,' I said in my head as I read the description.

Suddenly a burst of loud laughter escaped my mouth as tears almost started to form once I understood what had happened.

'He actually killed himself!'
