The president nodded and smiled without saying a word.

He was like a wolf.

Someone retorted, "That's just wrong. Our island is a private island, so the ownership is private."

Everyone was talking at once.

The vice president's side was not willing to be outdone. "If that's the case, then why don't we compete for it! The one with the highest price will get it!"

"Exactly. Since the buyer will become president, then we can all compete for the presidency. How is that democratic?"
