Chapter 36: Chapter 36 Entering Logue Town
"Back on the sea, I am honestly getting tired of this." Arch sighed as they sailed across the East Blue, they had managed to find a map eventually in Goa, but it ended up costing a whopping 3 Million Beri, Arch almost felt like stealing it.
On the other hand, Ace turned out to be fine just as Arch had said so there wasn't much trouble on that front. So with that, the Expedition Team left the Goa Kingdom and headed off to Logue Town.
'We have to get back soon I am sure my documents have been piling up.' Arch began to sweat a bit as he thought about the work load he'd have when he got back to Tigria, and it wasn't delightful to say the least.
On the other side of the boat Ugo was currently explaining Tigria and the Grand Line to Kuina, while Curt was preparing the food. "Are you sure its this direction? I swear I saw this rock about a kilometer ago." Bertram argued with Cort on the direction of Logue town.
Eventually Cort gave in and they simply followed Bertram's decision, after all when had he ever led them astray before, never right?
Luckily it seemed that Bertram had finally become a decent navigator in the East Blue, at least with his trusty map and compass by his side, because they made it Logue Town a few hours later.
Docking the boat, and heading into the town the Expedition Team decided to split up to enjoy themselves. Bertram went to a bar, Cort and Ugo went to a bookshop while Curt went to check out the local cuisine.
Which left Arch alone with Kuina. "So what's your deal? Apart from our initial conversation we haven't talked much." Kuina asked as they walked through the town. "Eh, nothing much really I am just a regular man doing regular man things." Arch replied, as his eyes darted around the town.
To a regular person this would look like the expression of a very excited tourist but in reality Arch was trying to locate the sword shop. On the other hand Kuina chuckled a bit looking at his expression. "You don't look very regular to me." She noted as they continued on their journey.
"Finally found it." Arch sighed his eyes glued onto a shop a distance away. It was a sword shop and just the one Arch had been looking for. 'I am not touching that cursed sword, but Yubashiri on the other hand will be a fine addition to the Kingdom.' Arch pondered before entering.
"Looking at all these swords!" Kuina said excitedly as they entered, immediately she walked towards the barrels filled with swords and began sifting through them. Seeing this Arch just left her to it and walked straight to the counter.
At the counter stood a short man with a weird hairstyle and a red nose. He looked a bit irritated, but his expression immediately changed into a smile as he locked eyes with Arch. "What can I do for you today?" He asked with as nice a tone as he could muster.
"Nothing much I am in town for swords, and good ones, I heard that around these parts there's Grade and even Skillful Grade swords." Arch answered truthfully. Hearing this the man's expression changed for a moment before going back to his smiling face.
"Well we don't have swords of such quality here, but we do have top notch swords otherwise." The man explained, as Arch frowned. Seeing this the merchant felt like he was going to lose out big. "But we do have a Grade Sword, Sandai Kitetsu." He blurted out, but immediately regret dawned on his face.
"A Grade Sword!?" Kuina exclaimed in shock, before sifting through the barrels even quicker. "Is this it?" She said as she pulled out the blade. "W-Wait I was kidding, that's not a grade sword put that back." He mumbled seemingly terrified.
"What, what's the issue?" Arch asked in confusion. "I am sorry, let me reiterate. Sandai Kitetsu is indeed a Grade Sword but its cursed, all of its wielders end up dying horribly!" He explained hurriedly trying to make sure Arch wouldn't buy it.
"Ah I see, well alas its too bad that you have no other Skillful Grade or even Grade Swords, I was planning to spend 5 million Beri at this establishment but too bad." Arch sighed, as he motioned for Kuina to put back the sword.
After all she already had Wado Ichimonji and she wasn't like Zoro who used 3 swords, in fact she only used the one. "F-Five million!" The man said in shock. "Yes 5 million too bad I guess." Arch muttered before turning to leave.
"W-Wait!" He hurriedly spoke before running off somewhere. A few seconds later the man came back. "This is my family heirloom the Skillful Grade Sword Yubashiri, I'll sell it to you for 5 million Beri." In less than a second the man introduced the sword to Arch and drew the blade.
"Not bad, sure I'll pay you 5 million for it, pleasure doing business with you." Arch smiled before grabbing some money and handing to the man. After he counted the bills he handed the sword to Arch, before he left along with Kuina.
On the way out the little girl was stunned to say the least. "W-Why did you just spend 5 million on a sword?" She asked in shock, 5 million was quite a lot of money to say the least. "Cause these swords these swords are valuable, there are only 33 swords in existence that can defeat it and only 49 that can match it, its totally worth 5 million Beri at least in my opinion." Arch explained, inspecting the sword.
He wasn't much of a swordsman but he could still admire the work. "Okay, then how are you so rich?" Kuina questioned once again. "Well obviously I am rich, I am a King after all." Arch replied off handedly before tucking the sword away.
"....A what?"
