Chapter 51: 51. Prophesizing up.

The police arrived, well, at their usual pace, meaning they arrived far too late to stop Stain from fainting from blood pooling in his head.

That was going to cause some permanent damage.

"Did you really need to do this?" A dog headed detective asked.

"Yes. He tried to kill us. And I had to do something!" I said, acting innocent.

"And who'll take responsibility for....this?" He asked, "It's all over the net! It's a social disaster!"

"No, it's a warning to criminals. It's a big, bright sign to all evildoers - if you commit crimes, you stand to lose more than some time and money, you stand to lose your human dignity itself." I said, framing a picture with my hands.

"You should be thanking me. I've just cut your problems in half!" I gloated.

"Just leave him be. I'll own up to this. The kids saved my bacon after all. Least I ... cough.....can do." Native groaned, straddling the strecher.

"You're messed up, kid." He sighed, handing me a card.

"You're lucky Native is taking responsibility for everything here.

If something comes up, we'll be in touch. Till then, I'd advise keeping a low profile. The public might appreciate it, but the men in the high towers don't.

You want to be a hero, right?

Then you'll need to make nice with them.

So follow my advice, and don't make it any harder for yourself."

I rolled my eyes and answered.

"Yes officer."

He smiled or at least it looked like a smile.

Couldn't tell from his stoic droopy dog face.

Now that I think about it, how did his mom even give birth to him?

How do mutant quirk users get born?

Is it a C-section procedure?

So many questions, so few answers.

Guess, I'll check with my books later.

But one question I couldn't help but ask out loud as the officer walked away.

"Hey, officer!" I asked, "Don't take this the wrong way, but.....do you ever feel an urge to sniff butts?"

The officer's ears twitched, and a vein bulged on his head as he turned halfway, leaving behind a chilling warning.

"Don't push your luck, brat."

So I take it he does feel like sniffing butts huh?

Neat!

Walking back to an exhausted Deku and Iida, I patted them on the shoulders.

"Good job back there." I praised the two, "But I really must go. See you at school?"

"Yeah." Iida answered absentmindedly, while Deku just nodded, drained.

"Bye then." I added, walking away, out of sight, before teleporting back to the intersection with the Fire Nomu.

Time to test my differentiation skills.

Dropping a shelf meteor on the Nomu, I neutralized it, at the cost of a charred shelf, before walking closer.

"Hey! Stay away! It's dangerous!" Manual shouted, hitting the Nomu with a jet of water.

"Yeah, I know! But it's down. Won't do shit to me." I replied, "Just wanted to see how it's skin feels. Give me a minute and I'll be gone before you know it!"

I kneeled beside the downed Nomu and placed my palm on it's skin, channeling OFA into my hand.

Then activating Copy, I probed his quirk factor, as my senses faded away, leaving only the instincts that came with Copy, forming into an image which appeared to my senses as a tangled up web of puzzle pieces haphazardly stuffed into wherever they fit.

Unraveling this yarn ball would take more effort than was worth it.

But nevertheless....

"Let's give it a g-" I said excited when something threw me away.

Cutting off Copy, my regular senses returned to me as the sensation of searing heat hit my skin.

Before me stood the stalwart hotheaded child abuser, Endeavor, and to the side, Shoto, helping put out the fires caused by the Nomu.

Endeavor cast a displeased glare at me before leaning forward, and proceeded to burn it's head right off.

My mans just vaporized someone.

Wow. Talk about broken abilities!

"Get out of here, before I charge you with vigilantism for interfering with my takedown of this villain." He threatened.

Now, I wasn't a stickler about getting credit but Endeavor was just pissing me off with his blatant kill stealing. Some long lost tick from my past life.

And, in the spur of the moment, I decided to revive and implement a long dead plan I had for ruining his life, post haste.

I stood up, clearing my throat and put on my best angry face.

"Excuse me! Your takedown? I brought it down. You did jack shit!" I protested.

"Manual." Endeavor ordered, "Take him away."

Manual caught me by the hand and tried dragging me away.

"Come on kid. You don't want to do this." He advised.

I shook him off, before muttering a short apology and turned to face.

"Like hell I don't! I don't mind giving him the credit for it. I'm no pro hero. But the fact that he can come here, shit on all of your efforts and then claim the credit for himself? That's some sick shit.

Are you so impotent that you need to scavenge off of others?

You...you're no hero, Endeavor!" I fueded, flipping him the bird.

"I'm leaving. Not because I'm scared of you, but because I know you're the sort to abuse your power to lord over others.

Compensating much?!" I mocked.

"But know this, there will come a day when this house of cards you've built will fall, and all your success will turn to ashes in your mouth." I announced out loud, as if it were a prophecy, before stomping away in a huff, hiding my smirk.

With that, all my goals for today were accomplished.

I had destroyed Stain's movement, crippled the League's power since Spinner and even Dabi likely won't be joining them after that little show.

Not to mention, I got a sense of how multiple quirks work in Nomus, which along with my eidetic memory means I'll have cracked the code to the multiple quirk problem by the end of the day.

And most of all, I set up what is essentially a self-fulfilling prophecy with the downfall of Endeavor, just for the heck of it.

Not like I'll be here to see the fallout, but it's the thought that counts. The thought of how messed up his mind will be when the Dabi revelation hits. If my exit doesn't turn the planet into a cold, dark speck of space dust.

Then, a thought occured to me, and a smile spread on my face.

Perhaps there was a way christmas could yet come early this year.
