Chris's parents were more welcoming than Oliver had expected. He had been tense during the start of the dinner, thinking they were going to bombard him with questions, but his parents didn't. And from the way they spoke to Chris, he could tell they adored him and that he was a spoiled brat.
When he thought Mr. Owen was going to scold Chris for running away, he had simply said, "I can understand why you ran away. You've been grounded for a while, so I will let it slide this time. I hope you were not hurt or get into trouble again?"
"Not at all. We just hung out and went to the movies." Chris answered, smiling happily.
"Good. You should try not to get into trouble again. Especially with that boy you've always fought with since you were kids." His mother added.
Realizing they were talking about Liam made Oliver shift in his seat uncomfortably.
