I was like a child sitting in the middle of two adults in their chaos. Queencie was handling calls to the shelter's governing body, while Chealsea was coordinating a helicopter for us to use to go to where we needed to be. Being useless was the best thing I could do. 

It was ironic actually. I was used to handling situations that people around me wouldn't have to lift a finger. But at that moment, I saw the way they handled things in their own abilities. I was so proud of them. It was like finally seeing your siblings grow into adults. It was like sitting in the background watching flowers unfolding on their own. It made me genuinely happy for them.
