"Yeah." I felt around inside myself. I hadn't been that fucking scared and pissed off in a long time. It would take me a while to get back in my normal headspace.

Whatever Cherry had done when she touched both Ki-Ki and me had taken off the worst edge. I could sort through each individual emotion. Inspect it, see where it fit in the grand scheme of things. I could also see where I'd allowed it to balloon out of control while fear was riding me.
