Chapter 2: 2-Learning the Truth
As Issan takes Cleopatra out of the market she could hardly move herself in the chains they have on her. As soon as they are out and in the field Issan puts Cleopatra down and proceeds to unchain her. He looks in her eyes and says "Ok you're ready to go see your new home and Your room." She nodded and smiled. Issan picks her back up and says "Hold on tight we are going to be high." As soon as Issan says that he starts the fire tornado as it roared and wound and whorled around them. Cleopatra grips on tight to Issan and starts to whimper. Issan started to hum a soft tone and she starts to calm down and before she knew it they were Home. Cleopatra looks up at Issan and smiles. Issan looks at her and touches her had soft and gentle and asks "Are you ready to see your new home and your room? Now I didn't have time to really set up your room but we can do that together that way you can get what you want." Cleopatra just look down and the smile left her. Issan gently places his right hand on her left cheek and says "My Sweet Little Cleo, What's wrong you can tell me anything? I'm always here and I will always listen to you. I'm not going to keep you the way you think I am. Starting once we left No chains, No whips, No cages." He set her down to let her walk on her own to give her freedom to move on her own. As soon as Issan said the last one he remembered that he had asked Marv to set up a cage for a Brenos he was bringing home. Even though he had no idea that he was going to bring home someone like her he was preparing for a full adult. Marv knew that Issan was home and he opened the castle door and there stood a little girl then all of a sudden she jumps in front of Issan turns and growls then roars at Marv in the most aggressive way that she could. Marv and Issan just look at each other not knowing what to say. Then Issan starts to laugh when he realizes that she was protecting him. Issan takes his hand and places it on her head and says "Now now it's all right Marv is a friend matter of fact he is the best friend you could ever ask for. So let's not do that anymore Okay." Cleopatra stopped and lifted her hands up in a jester to be picked up. Issan does as she wants and picks her up and she turns to Marv and gives him the most evilest look as she could muster.
As they walk into the castle Issan explains everything "This is what is called the entryway. Through those doors in front of us is the dancehall it's where we hold the big parties. Down that hall to the left is where the house maids and the soldiers sleep and to the right is the kitchen and the dining area then up these stairs here," Issan starts walking up the left side stair well. "Are more rooms that other soldier sleep in. The rooms down are the Guards that stand at the wall. Each guard and soldier who doesn't have a home to go to stay here and share rooms. Down this left hall well you can also reach from the right hall. I always use the left hall is seems quicker." Issan starts to laugh and as did Cleopatra. Marv was right behind them the whole time and he finally says "You know she doesn't actually know or understand what you are saying and she laughed because you were." Issan stops and turns to Marv and says "Why does everyone keep saying that to me? She understands me just fine she's smarter than everyone gives her credit for." Cleopatra nods her head one time. Issan smiles and says "See she understands more than you think." Issan turns back around and starts to walk again. He walks till he gets to 2 large doors and he opens one of the doors and says "This is where you will be sleeping." As Issan puts Cleopatra down so she can look around Marv grabs Issan's arm and says "This is your room Issan." Issan grabs Marv's wrist and slightly burning him and says low and stern "I know that. I'm not sure who I can trust with her so until then she sleeps in here with me. You will do well to remember that this is My Kingdom. I may let you run it while I'm gone and give you alot of say in things around here but this is My Kingdom and that little girl" Issan stops and thinks for a minute and corrects himself "My sweet Little Cleo, is mine and I will do as I please or see fit. Do you have a problem with any of this? You will do good to remember my temper." Marv bows his head and torso and says "Forgive me My Lord I humbly ask for your forgiveness I for a moment in fear for you forgot my place. I swear to you it will not happen again." Issan touches the top of his head and Marv stands up. Issan says "Please my old friend don't do that I lost my cool I always value your opinion and you have never done anything to cross me. You always have my best interest at heart. I know that it's just for some reason I feel really attached to that little girl and I don't know why." Marv says "Please don't get mad at what I'm about to say." Issan nods his head and Marv begins to explain "The reason is simple now I have never seen it but I have heard about it. They call it priming it's something that they do to their leader or king. It's how they live and survive when younger they surrender their life to that person. That leader or king whoever it may be becomes there everything till their old enough to find a mate then they prim to there mate. They follow them to the letter they will do nothing to anger or displease them in anyway." Marv stops and looks around and says "Where did she go?" Issan points down and Marv looks down where Issan points. Issan smiles and laughs alittle and says "She never walked away she's been right here you didn't even notice her." Issan looks at him very confused on how Marv being a halfbreed didn't even notice that she didn't even move. As Cleopatra clung to his pant leg to make sure he is not far from her. Marv was shocked that she didn't even move and how quite she was being and he looks at Issan and says jokingly knowing full well she is "Are you sure she's full blooded? I have never seen one behave so well before and for her age that is amazing." Issan looks at Marv and asks "Do know how old she is because they didn't say and didn't want to say." Marv looks at him and smiles and says "She's at least 5." Issan nods and says "I thought a little younger but I can see 5 years old I guess." Marv starts to laugh and says "No Issan 5 months." Marv continues to laugh. Issan looks down at Cleopatra and says "Come on let me show you around your bedroom." Cleopatra looks at him and smiles and says "No Our Room." Marv instantly stops laughing and looks at her and says "Did you just talk?" Issan just looks at her and kneels down and asks "Is there anything else you can say?" Cleopatra just stood there for a moment and then opened her mouth and says "My Issan." Then she jumps on him and hugs his neck as tight as her weak little body could muster. As soon as she lets go she fainted.
Issan panicked and called every doctor he could think of that knew anything about Brenos. Days past and Cleopatra hasn't even woken up and 15 doctors have come to look at her and none of them knew anything. She was stable but not waking up her body seemed to be fine. On the 6th day a halfbreed who has spent alot of time with full breed Brenos came to look at her. She did the same examination that all the other doctors have done. She stands and turns to Issan and says "There's no reason to be worried her body is just really weak and it's trying to heal now that it found a reason to live. The only thing you have to worry about now is her hunger when she wakes. It will be safer if you but her in a holding unit until she wakes. If you do not you risk everyone in the kingdom not just yourself when I know you're the only one who is really aloud in here. I know you see a little girl" Issan cuts her off "I just don't see a little girl I see My Little girl and she wouldn't do anything to hurt me or" The doctor interrupted "She is Brenos Issan not a Cravous I maybe half Brenos and half Cravous but you have to remember she's still like a wild animal." Issan looked at her with a look that says if you keep talking I will kill you. Then he says "You don't understand she's not what you think you don't know anything about her." As soon as he says that Cleopatra sits up and looks around and Issan sits next to her on the bed and asks "Are you hungry?" Cleopatra just looks up at him and nods her head.
Issan stands and hold out his hand and says "Let's go eat. I will show you where meals are eaten at " She grabs his hand. He leads her to the door and she let go of his hand and holds her hands up to be picked up. Issan bends down and picks her up. Issan holds her to his left and touches her face with his right hand and says "You sure like being held and carried don't you." Cleopatra just smiles big and then tucks her head into his neck and bays. At that moment the doctor is well aware of what is going on and why she's being so good and why she's acting like a Cravous instead of a Brenos. The doctor touches Issan's shoulder and says "I get it now why she's acting this way and being this way she has made you her hierarchy so shes goings to do as you do. Issan you know what this means " Issan shakes his head and says "No, what does it mean?" The doctor says "She will live and not die she will be the first in captivity born Brenos that will see adult hood. Issan you have to train her. You can make her into one of the best fighters in the games she won't be beaten because she can be trained." Issan just looked at her and then says "I will never participate in the games no matter what anyone says I don't think that we should make them fight to survive. I think any of them could be trained I just believe they think they can't be because they think they're just animals. Cleopatra will help me show all the Cravous that their wrong about Brenos that there just mindless beast. I never thought they were and neither did My Mother. She may have been killed by a Brenos but I think there was something else that happened that we don't know about."
"My father is wrong. MARV!!!" Issan yells for Marv and continues saying "Everyone is wrong yes she went to help a child but I think something happened I don't think a Brenos killed her it had to be an animal. If it was a Brenos then it was because they miss understood what was happening they heard the child crying like my mom and probably thought that she was hurting the child. But then again I really think it was an animal only because the body was dragged and a Brenos won't drag her off like that. Look Cleo is hungry and I would like to feed her sometime this year please " Issan turns and starts to walk off in the direction of the stairs. As they reach the stairs Marv is right there.
Each kingdom has a way to sound that there is a visitor and who it is. The horn for the High Grand King went off as soon as they make down the stairs. Issan started for the kitchen and Cleopatra started shaking and whimpering like crazy. Issan held her close and started running his fingers through her hair and says " SHHHH. It's ok My Sweet Little Cleo. Your ok nothing is going to happen to you I promise you're safe." Cleopatra stops shaking and calm down on the whimpering. Issan kept running his fingers through her hair and kept making the shushing sound and he walks into the kitchen and says "Cleopatra is hungry and I need food made for my father as well. Cleopatra needs uncooked food but whole animal. Something small but yet big and make sure it's red meat as well." Marv looks at him and says "You sure you want to feed her red meat you know red meat makes them stronger." Issan just smiles and says "Yes I know and yes I'm sure I want to feed her red meat. I want and need Cleo as strong as she can get. I want to make sure that in case anything happens to me that she will be strong enough to protect herself and take care of herself as soon as she gets older I'm not sure if I'm going to find a Brenos to teach her or have someone else teach her to hunt." Issan looks at Marv and smiles. Marv shakes his head and says "You couldn't pay me enough." Marv quickly changes the subject by saying "Shouldn't we get to the door to greet your father." Issan looks at Cleopatra and says "Yes let's make our way to the door. You ready to meet the Grand High King Drenial also known as my father. He's the reason that I went to the market and found you and brought you home with me." Issan turns around the doctor was standing there he looked at her and says "Keep your thought about how I want to feed her and raise her to yourself. She is My Little Girl and I will do as I please. Let's go greet my father shall we My Sweet Little Cleo?" Cleopatra just looks at him and smiles.
