Ryley averted his gaze upon hearing Alex's words. A trace of anxiety swept across his brown eyes as he could hear his heartbeat getting louder.

Alex walked closer to the bed after he put down the first aid kit, then slowly took his seat at the bedside with a concerned look.

"I know you don't want to worry anyone. But if you keep hurting yourself like this...."

He could feel the pain escaping Ryley's lowered gaze. If Ryley didn't have any feelings toward his bodyguard... He wouldn't look this sad and tortured.

"Do you love him?"

The question finally freed itself from Alex's throat, making Ryley turn his eyes that were still wet with tears towards the small doctor, running into his pitiful stare.

He had been asking himself about this ever since the first time they met and yet, he wasn't able to figure out even a clue.
