Chapter 21: The project

I looked at the papers, it said I had to repeat the 10th grade after I went 'missing in action'. Robbie dropped me off by the sidewalk and drove away. I walked down the street to the entrance where a security guard used a metal detector on me. I winced when he arched an eyebrow and searched my purple backpack and pulled out a watch. I swallowed, I must have bypassed that when I unpacked.

"Hmm"

Thankfully, he put it back in and looked me over.

"Principal's office is on the west side of the building"

I nodded and hung my back walking into the hallway, blue lockers on each side, fire extinguishers and safety kit, inbuilt lights above and ahead.

There was a huge sticker of an eagle with flames on its back with the words "Go eagles"

Which way was west? I was so disoriented, I walked right into the janitor's room. I scratched my head.

"Hey uh_"

The bell went off, the hallway was emptying, I pulled someone over.
