Chapter 22: Jealousy

After Irene finished bathing the kitten, she gave herself a bath, and went to bed satisfied.

Ronald went to work and didn't come back until midnight. He didn't disturb Irene, but instead carefully lifted the quilt and lay down beside her.

Irene sensed the movement around her. Although she was sleeping, she hugged Ronald accurately and rubbed against him like she longed for him.

Just like a cat.

Ronald thought that he had woken Irene up. His movements froze for a while. He only dared to relax when he heard her steady breathing.

Ronald planted a kiss on Irene's head. He had regained what he had lost. So this was what it felt like to be at ease.

The next morning, Irene was the first one to open her eyes. When she found herself lying on Ronald's body, her small face immediately flushed red.

She could only stand up carefully, afraid that she would wake him up.
