Chapter 17: Close call
It has been a week since I arrived on this mysterious island. Me and my pokemon have been surging by sheer luck.
The existence of this island I came to name mystery island is truly breathtaking and frightening.
Besides the charizard and dragonite I have seen a variety of other powerful pokemon.
Just the other day I almost died from a horde of ariados. I was collecting berries and fruits as I accidentally walked into a giant set of spider webs.
If it wasn't for metang quick use of teleportation I would have been a goner. I shivered remembering the hungry stares of the ariados waiting to feast on me.
I'm begging to lose a little bit of my sanity from being out here for so long. I'm sure the world should have heard of my disappearance by now.
I can imagine it now the headlines of all the world news. Reid family heir has gone missing.
My parents our probably worried out of their mind. These just made me have even more resolve to escape this place.
But for right now I have to find a mean to survive. Since most of these pokemon around are stronger than Riolu and metang we have to lead double team to win a battle.
I also have to be careful not to overexert there energy either due to it not being a pokemon center around.
Man I sure do miss the city right now. Getting my emotions together I went out explore further today.
I sensed an interesting power coming from the middle of the forest while searching a few days ago.
I know that the trip will be quiet dangerous but with metang and Riolu I feel that I can get through anything.
Letting out Riolu and metang i made my way through the forest. Making sure to carefully evade the strong looking opponents.
For instance we had to crawl past a sleeping snorlax. Even though they can be quite the docile and lazy pokemon.
If angered they are known to cause great damage. Snorlax are pokemon to not be treaded lightly.
After passing snorlax I made my way deeper into the forest where the Pokémon go even stronger.
I continued walking doing my best to avoid making any loud noises. I suddenly felt a vine wrap around my leg as it tightened and squeezed hard.
Yelping out in pain I alerted the nearby pokemon. It was the plant like pokemon Victreebel.
This pokemon was very powerful but still no among the strongest on this island.
The victreebel was very different from what I recognized in the pokemon show. For one it seemed less friendly.
Also by the fact that it has blood around it whole body which seems fresh I wouldn't say I could talk my way out of this.
Battle start:
"Let's go Riolu and metang you can do this. Use aura sphere and psychic."
The victreebell was trapped by psychic energy then attacked by a an aura sphere.
This caused damage to victreebell. It became even more enraged and murderous from the attacks.
Victreebell let out a screech as tentacles began flying in every direction.
Thinking fast I told metang to create a barrier protecting us.
Since this is the wild pokemon are not obligated to follow the rules of the league. U can die even with the protection of pokemon.
A barrier surrounded the three of us seconds before powerful vines came flying crushing everything in their path.
Luckily metang barrier was able to protect us from harm.
"Riolu use ice punch, metang use hyperbeam."
Riolu fist became encased in ice as it leapt forward striking victreebell freezing part of its body.
Then a beam began to form in front of metang as it rushed forward striking victreebell.
Victreebell was severely weakened from the attack. In desperation it launched it next move.
It began to spit up purple liquid which flew towards us.
"Quick metang teleport us out of the way."
Psychic energy began to surround us we barely teleported out the way as the poison landed it the spot we would be.
I widened my eyes at the damage it did. The ground melted as the purple liquid oozed the cracks of the earth.
"That was a close one. Let's end this guys metang increase the gravity on victreebell and Riolu use full power blaze kick."
The surrounding pressure began to increase as victreebell was crashed into the ground.
Victreebell began to struggle to rise from the increasing pressure.
Then Riolu finished the battle off with a final move. It's foot became encased in flames as it rushed towards victreebell delivering the killing blow.
Battle end
That sure was a tough battle. Looking at the victreebell body I saw it was something shiny coming from it's body.
Reaching my hand over I grasped a purple sphere. I didn't know what it was but it had the feeling of poison coming off of it.
Storing the orb me and my pokemon continued on deeper into the forest. Making sure to be extra careful this time.
Suddenly the entire forest area became quiet until suddenly you could see two pokemon battling in the sky.
To my surprise it was the two legendary birds. Zapdos and moltres were going at it against each other.
The wind speeds began to pick up as lighting struck down upon the land creating craters everywhere.
Moltres began to let out raging flames which heated up the area. Scorching everything that was near.
Both pokemon gave out a screech. A giant flame tornado rose up as it moved towards the zapdos.
Zapdos called out a powerful thunderstorm as it flew towards the oncoming tornado intent on striking it down.
The attacks clashed as multiple pokemon in the area was struck. Either killing them or heavily injuring them.
Seeing the battle I couldn't help but wonder what could have made them so enraged at each other.
I ran quickly to find a place to hide out in. And waited for the fight to cool down.
I also began to wonder where could articuno be. The other pokemon of the legendary bird trio.
