Chapter 17: The top and Sports Festival (3)
[ 3rd person's POV ]
Present Mic: "Let's look at the top 4 teams that got in:
First place: Team Ao
Second place: Team Shoto
Third place: Team Bakugo
Fourth place: Team Shinso"
Ao went towards the waiting lounge after talking to Shoto. Midoriya looked at Ao's back with a complicated look which changed to determination.
He turned to Shoto, "Todoroki-kun can I talk to you for a minute?".
Shoto looked at Midoriya and nodded.
They both went under the stadium and stood there facing against each other. Shoto asked, "What do you want to ask Midoriya?"
"No matter how I look at it, no one from our class can beat Ao-kun even without his quirk. He has only ever used his quirk twice. One of them I missed but the other one was at USJ against that villain. His quirk is known as Phoenix flames, a flame that can even burn fire. I--"
"Get to the point already." Shoto rushed him.
"What I wanna ask about is information. In order to win, I want to know more about his strength. I know he is naturally strong and something about his flames like it's offensive power, defense and healing factor. But that's all. No one knows what and how long he can use etc."
"You do know that you are asking me to sell out my own brother, right?"
"I know. But I- I wanna win this and become the No. 1 he--"
"It's impossible, Midoriya. With my brother around, no one can become the next number 1. At least in our generation. Don't make my brother a goal, you'll end up like my father. Forever second and lost." Shoto said with eyes full of annoyance.
Midoriya was shocked. He tried to refute Shoto's claims "But everyone has a weakness and I'm sure Ao-kun also has one. He himself said that."
"Oh that. Don't worry it's a weakness only I can use. Anyone other than me cannot do the same." Shoto said and felt a chill down his spine remembering that weakness he once exploited. After that he promised himself to never use it again… EVER.
"Still there always will be something. Even All Might--" Midoriya still insisted.
"And there is your mistake Midoriya. My brother is not All Might who was born with a powerful quirk. No, he made his quirk this powerful."
"What?" Midoriya was shocked.
"People think that his Phoenix flames are powerful and they are just not as much as he makes them look like. It's more of a support and defense quirk. You see his flames burns him and melt his own body like how your quirk breaks your own body. Every time he had go over his limits, he had to be very careful not to burn himself in the process… I have seen him burn his entire hand and regenerate."
"He always made it look so easy when he was with us, but only he knows how much it actually hurts. Even with that he came out on top. He used it so many times with so much pain but still he did it."
"He was screaming and burning his own hands to control his flames. He always smiled at me when he got home. His healing would automatically heal him and the pain also went away but he always continued until he mastered it."
Midoriya listening to Shoto was amazed. He knew that Ao's control over his quirk could have only come with thousands of tries.
{A flame so hot that it can burn fire}. It was burning Ao too.
"I have always seen him fight stronger opponents. They always exploit his weakness but in a month or two, that weakness disappears like a lie. He has done that for 8 years. Every known disadvantage was changed into his strength. And we are still talking about his quirk. His other abilities are in itself very powerful."
"His other abilities?" Midoriya asked.
"Have you ever wondered why he wears a Blindfold?"
Midoriya blushed, "He told me that it's to prevent him from seeing through clothes."
Shoto facepalmed knowing his brother's habit of trolling people.
"He has near perfect control over all his abilities, how can he look into others clothes if he doesn't want to?"
"Well if he is this strong with his eyes 'closed' then imagine what he can do when he opens it. You see he has never really fought us with his true strength and according to father, even he isn't a match to my brother."
Shoto had a complicated expression. When Enji said that to him, he didn't want to believe it as it would mean the gap between them was too big to fill.
"Don't look up towards him yet. Even with all that I think he will reach a wall he won't be able to cross. At that time surely…" Shoto said with some conviction.
Shoto left with those words but Midoriya was still not feeling too good about himself. He was the successor of his idol, the number 1 hero, All Might, but now--
"He might be the most powerful right now but that doesn't mean you can't go beyond your own full potential, Young Midoriya." All Might said after coming out of the corner.
Midoriya looked at his fist and yelled "YEAH".
In all honesty even All Might believed in Shoto since he talked to Akiho and confirmed the strength of her grandson.
Her answer?
"He will surpass both of us combined at his peak."
Everyone knew about Akiho's strength being only slightly lower than All Might. So the concept of someone being more powerful then them together was very high.

[ After break ] [ Ao's POV ]
'Ok this is just heaven' Is all I could think right now.
All the girls from our class are standing there in a cheerleader's uniform.
"Kaminari-san and Minita-san how could you deceive us." Momo shouted.
'Minita? Who is that? That purple blob creature? He looks like a defective toy. But well thank you Minita-san for this wonderful present. What I didn't expect was that the tomboy has oppai too. OMG'
I mean from the clothes she wears I would say they weren't present at all. Plus even my OH didn't peak it up.

Our third battle was a PVP. Some people quit and got replaced.
Anyways, my first opponent is Momo-chan and I'm thinking about how to go with it.
First match is between Green-boy VS Purple-haired-Boy. Umm, this purple-guy gives me a repulsive feeling. His looks give me a feeling of getting trapped.
Present Mic: "Ready Start"
Purple-guy seems to be speaking. I can't hear but his lips are saying 'Monkey' and 'Pride'. Green-boy ran towards him but he stopped.
Green-boy walked towards the exit but he came to a stop and an explosion took his place.
As they went, Purple-boy and Green-boy fought which ended with a quick blow to the stomach. And Green-boy won.
I went towards the entrance and asked that purple boy, "What's your name?"
He looked at me and said, "Shiron."
"Well Shiron-kun, in all the students I have seen, yours is really the strongest quirk I have seen. Except for me and probably green-boy, I'm pretty sure no one can counter it." I said with a smug.
What I said is true. It is a quirk with so much power.
"Hoo. how come?" he asked me with a small smile.
"Well it depen-" I was replying to him when I felt a restriction.
Purple-boy walked towards me after using his quirk on me. When he reached my side, he said, "You overestimate yourself."
I easily overcame his bind with my CH and said, "And you underestimate me, Purple-boy."
"Ho-How?"
"Come to 1-A and I'll tell you. But if you can't, *grins* then forget it". he had a shocked face.
[ 3rd person's POV ]
Todoroki Shoto VS Sero Hanta
Shoto walked towards the stage looking more and more pissed. He realized the gap but still the more he talked to Midoriya the more he got pissed off himself.
Present Mic: "Ready… Start!"
As soon as Present Mic said start, Sero used his tape to wrap onto Shoto. He then tried to drag Shoto out of bounds but…
*Streeng*
*Whoosh*
Shoto froze Hanta's tape and the person himself.
On the 1-A student's seat, Ao unconsciously wrapped his flames around his friends who had wide eyes.
He looked at his hand 'Even though I wasn't paying attention but to make me feel threatened to the point that I used my flames to defend... *sign*', Ao grinned to himself.
Midoriya, Uraraka, Iida and everyone present around looked at Ao with shock. Not because of the fact that he reacted so quickly but that his flames didn't burn them when he used it.
Ao never took anyone seriously, even when he was driven to a corner, so him using it was not something they expected. They looked at Shoto who was walking towards Hanta to unfreeze him.

Evilest_God I cringed writing some of this.
I know the uploads are very slow but please bear with me. I have an 8 hours job and freelancing to do. As this is just something I write to get my mind off from those work pressure, I really wanna write this with no serious thought attached.
Well hope you enjoyed this chapter. I actually forgot to upload it few days ago.
There will be a new chapter tomorrow though.
