Chapter 191: Chapter 170 - Glimpse of the Future

Alright, let's get the facts straight.

Akari and I went to that strange fortune teller and had our fortune told.

Then, I went home and went to sleep.

When I woke up, I woke up in the future where I have a kid and I'm married to Akari?!

Eh, this is actually a pretty cool scenario.

There's not that much to complain about, so let's see where this future has in store for me.

After realizing that such an outrageous event occurred, Takei decided to learn more of this future that he had woken up in.

He had learned that Akari and him got married right out of college, had a kid after Takei landed a solid paying job at a tech company, and is now living a leisurely life with his young daughter and wife.

As she had promised, Akari became a housewife to take care of Takei and their daughter.

She had the degree and intellect to choose a high-paying job at any company she wanted, but Akari chose to give that up in order to spend time with her family.

"She really is the best..." Takei happily murmured.

"Who is, Papa?" The little girl sitting on his lap asked.

Takei didn't recognize this girl at first after he woke up, which was reasonable since she technically wasn't alive in the present yet.

However, he managed to learn that she was none other than his daughter that he shared with Akari.

Marie Tanaka was her name, and she was the spitting image of her mother.

Blonde hair, brown eyes, and an innocently cute face; that was the daughter that Takei and Akari had.

She had inherited her mother's beautiful blond hair, while she took after her father's brown eyes.

Unsurprisingly, Marie was an angel of a child which led to Takei immediately spoiling her.

"Mama is the best," Takei said. "You're the best as well!"

"There can be two people who can be the best?" Marie innocently asked.

Takei nodded. "Mhm! Daddy thinks both of you girls are the best!"

"Yay~ I love Papa!" Marie happily giggled.

Man, my daughter is really cute. I just want to smother her with love!

Oddly enough, Takei had his memories of this future timeline.

After he has awoken, a stream of memories flowed into his mind.

That stream of memories was the culmination of experiences that the future version of him had experienced.

Using those memories, Takei was able to seamlessly navigate through his daily life easily.

"Mou... you're spending too much time with her and not enough time with me..."

Akari came back from folding the laundry and pouted when she saw Takei wholeheartedly focused on Marie.

"It's okay, Mama. You can cuddle with me and Papa!" Marie chirped.

"Yeah, Mama~ Come over here," Takei teased.

Although Akari was blushing like she always did in these types of situations, there was an obviously happy expression on her face when she sat down next to Takei and leaned on his shoulder.

"Did you ever think something like this could ever happen when we first met in high school?" Akari asked, out of nowhere.

"Definitely not. You were kinda uncute back then," Takei answered immediately.

"Yowch!" He said right after receiving a flick on the forehead.

Akari then looked away and pouted. "Hmph!"

"What did I do?! I was being 100 percent truthful!" Takei complained. "You weren't being honest with yourself, so I thought that was uncute."

Takei had never explicitly said it, but he was really not a fan of the goddess persona that Akari had established for herself.

He felt that it was a shame that she had to hide away her real self in order to appeal to others, and that it was truly a waste of her good personality.

However, that real side of her that he had discovered was something that only he knew.

Knowing that, there was a warm feeling in his heart.

"So you didn't think I was cute?" Akari sadly asked.

"..." It was at this moment that Takei realized that he had been trapped.

"You don't think Mama is cute?" Marie asked, with tears in her eyes.

Argh, god damn it! You'll pay for this, Akari!

Takei knew that Akari was just teasing him, but she had brought their daughter into this.

There was no way Takei could say anything when Marie was looking up at him with puppy dog eyes.

"Haah... I think Mama is very cute," Takei boldly stated.

"Aw~ Thanks, Dear~" Akari grinned.

The result of this battle?

Takei: 0

Akari: 1

"Papa, do you think I'm cute?" Marie asked.

"Papa thinks Marie is the cutest girl in the world!"

"Yay! Marie loves Papa lots!"

The three of them ended up continuing the cuddling session on the couch until Takei accidentally nodded off and fell asleep.

"Huh? I'm back?"

Takei woke up and scanned his surroundings only to find that he was back in his normal room.

So that was only a dream... I was in a dream where I was married to Akari and had a daughter.

I also... Also... Wait, what type of dream was that?

God, I hate the phenomenon where you forget your dreams right after waking up.

Since I don't remember it, there's not much else I can do about it.

Time to go back to sleep I guess.

At this time, Takei didn't think much else of the dream and gradually began to forget the events that had transpired during the dream.

However, that dream was just a glimpse towards a future that he would inevitably reach.

It was just going to be a matter of time.
