Chapter 27: Chapter 27

In the blink of an eye, three days have passed since training began. Currently, all the cadets are doing their morning run around the mountain to start the day. They had already had their first meal and needed to increase their endurance.

However, Ezir and Mikasa were the only two who really stood out. In the eyes of their colleagues, it seemed that they both didn't even feel fatigue, only leading the way as the fastest and toughest of the group.

'I have to at least make the top three with the best grades within those three years, that is, if I want to take the first big step towards my plan.' - Ezir.

Finally noticing his rival, he realized that she didn't show the slightest signs of backing down. In fact, it was as if she would soon overtake him if he wasn't careful.

'That's to be expected, since I can't use all my abilities, but still... an Ackerman's physique is insane!' - Ezir.

'So he can keep up with me too...' - Mikasa.

Riding alongside the row of cadets was Keith Shadis, who was monitoring them to check which ones were in the best condition and ensure that no unforeseen events occur. However, instead of looking more closely at the two in front, his attention was focused on one boy in particular.

'So Grisha's son hasn't given up yet... I'll have to do something to demotivate him, balance test happening tomorrow.'  - Keith.

He envied the boy's father when he was still part of the scouting troop. No, actually, he still envies him. In the old days, when he constantly remembered the words his then missing companion used to say to him, Keith felt special and even superior to the others, and this only increased when he was appointed to the position of commander, but under his leadership, the failures became worse and worse. With each expedition more and more soldiers died because of his poor leadership, making him feel worse every day. Along with this, he also saw the woman he loved, married and even having a child with the man he was jealous of (Grisha). Because of this, he developed an inferiority complex due to realizing that he would never become someone special, and passed the baton to Erwin Smith.

After running a few more kilometers, the cadets rested for a few minutes and left for the dormitories to put on their casual clothes. The next place they would go soon after would be the classroom.

In a short time, the place was almost completely filled, but the only ones not yet there were Ezir and Annie.

"What took you so long to change?" - Annie.

"I'm sorry if my clothes were thrown next to the trash by the dorm girls. And thank you for not doing anything to stop them!" - Ezir.

Now the two were hurrying to the classroom. Because the boy was temporarily housed in the girls' dormitory, they both chose to go together.

"I couldn't do anything. Did you want me to become the target of a collective hatred?" - Annie.

"Whatever. Let's hurry up or we'll get a scolding from that annoying bald guy." - Ezir.

The boy had become something of an enemy to most of the girls in the dorm. They could do nothing to contest the decision of the camp administrator, so they decided to take all their anger out on the innocent boy.

They hurriedly opened the classroom door, only to find everyone looking in their direction. The teacher's expression was not the best and it was clear that the duo was going to get a lecture for being late.

They then snuck off to the stalls, Annie was heading towards Reiner and Bertolt, but was abruptly stopped when Ezir grabbed her hand and pulled her to his side.

'Huh?!' - Annie.

The two sat in the same stall as two other girls. One of them is short and had beautiful blonde hair and blue eyes, the other one is tall and has a face full of freckles and piercing eyes, but there is no question that they are both pretty.

"Pleasure, my name is Ezir and this is Annie."  - Ezir, shortly after allocating himself in the chair.

"Pleasure, my name is Krista, I hope we get along well."  - Historia, with a gentle smile on her face.

'I have to get used to calling you Krista, if by one slip up I say your real name, it won't be good for me at all.' - Ezir.

"See if you're not the most hated boy among the girls." - Ymir.

'No names huh...' - Ezir.

"Hehe" - Ezir, laughing listlessly and with a bead of sweat dripping down his forehead.

"But it's not his fault, the people who run the camp are to blame." - Historia.

"I agree with you, Krista. I didn't even go into the dormitory without some girl around. I don't understand all this hatred directed at me." - Ezir.

"You're just being used as a distraction. They can't do anything against the instructor's decision, so they can only take their displeasure out on the one who caused it... And apparently they didn't take it easy on you." - Ymir, sensing a bad smell coming from the boy's clothes.

"*sigh* I hope this gets resolved soon... Anyway, you didn't tell me your name, lady knows everything." - Ezir.

"Ymir."

"!" - Annie.

"Ymir, huh? That's a good name, don't you think, Krista?" - Ezir.

"Yes, it's nice. Yours too Ezir and Annie, you are siblings, aren't you?" - Historia.

"Yes, yes. My sister is a little shy, but I ask you not to hold back when talking to her."  - Ezir, with a smile on his face as he points to Annie.

"?!" - Annie.

After that, Ymir, Historia and Ezir carried on talking for some more time, until finally they were reprimanded by the teacher for talking during class.

A few hours later...

It was already lunchtime and the class had just been dismissed. Annie and Ezir stood a little apart from the others because the girl was quite angry about something. And of course, the boy didn't know the right reason, but he had an idea.

"Why did you make me sit together with other girls?" - Annie.

"Wouldn't the question be, why not sit with other girls?" - Ezir.

"Don't run away from the question."  - Annie, already snapping her fingers.

"Don't you think you need to mingle more? It worries me to see you talking only to me or the other two." - Ezir.

"And why do they worry?" - Annie.

In response to that, the boy suddenly advanced on the girl and hugged her.

"Wha-" - Annie.

Without allowing room for reaction, he brought his lips close to her ear and whispered for only her to hear, making the girl feel his breath hit her ear.

"Because you are important to me." - Ezir.

"?!" - Annie.

And out of pure instinct, Annie took a knee between the boy's legs, hitting him right in the middle of his precious bottom.

*a!@!@#@@$!$a¥£₩!@* - Ezir, making unreproducible sounds.

"I-idiot" - Annie, quickly walking away with her face as red as a tomato.

After a few minutes of agonizing pain, Ezir finally manages to reason again.

"Oh my god!!! I'll never try to do something like that again without her letting me! That's a promise to my future children!!!' - Ezir.
