First Guardian Of Nova Initia

Two sisters, one being dressed by the other. Lucy was in the best mood today ever since their life turned upside down. On the other hand, Lulu felt how happy her sister was.

"Sir Brian is really a good man. He even promised to find a way to fix my condition."

"He really is… Miss Raine is also a good person offering her place to stay while I work."

That was the reason why Lulu who barely comes outside was dressing up this time. It has been a couple of days since they last met, and Raine invited Lulu to stay with them during the time she is supposed to be alone.

Anyone with a good heart will feel sad and help after hearing that someone like Lulu is forced to be home alone.

Raine said it was best for Lulu to be accompanied even though she has a strong heart. Lucy knows this that is why she was willing to have her sister under the care of someone rather than letting her with loneliness. If she can be at the side of Lulu every second, then she would. It is unfortunate she needs to earn money for both of them.

With the help of the wheelchair Brian and Richi have created, going outside is not a problem like it used to be. The chill morning air was the best time for both sisters to travel the roads heading towards District 9.

"Good morning, Miss Raine. Thank you for having me here."

"Glad to see you, Lulu."

Lucy gave the wheelchair handle to Raine then took a sneak peek behind her. Paia was already there writing something on a blank book.

She gave her farewells to her sister, Raine, and even Paia who noticed someone was at the door. Her duty as the clerk of Nova Initia has begun for the day…

"Do you have a smaller size of this?"

"Can I invite you for dinner later?"

"Let me talk to the owner! How can he sell something outrageously expensive as this."

Being the only member present inside the blacksmith, all questions and complaints go through her.

Her boss was absent as usual, or as it should normally be. He did say to her he was planning to make the blacksmith somewhat independent.

That would also means all problems should be solved by her if possible.

Tapping on the magic box her boss gave her, everything went smoothly as one is supposed to. This strange artifact is what she was using most of her idle time despite having only little use.

At least she can practice her speed in mental solving using the things called 'app' by her boss.

"…Looks like this is an easy target. There are no guards at this shop at all." A sneaky imp demon was whispering words to his comrade beside.

"Not to mention, barely any guards are roaming this street."

Two small imps were having a discussion that only the two of them should hear. However, it was useless trying to whisper anything as long as they are inside the blacksmith. Because Lucy's ears might be sharper to those races who excel in hearing.

Why you might ask- it was something she had learned through her past experiences she rather not remember.

Despite hearing every detail of their despicable plan, Lucy just let them leave the blacksmith in one piece. Base on what she heard, they would be visiting later at night.

After those small mobs without any distinct features left, nothing special happened the rest of the day.

...

The moon has wakened up from the night sky filled with dark clouds. The seldom rain has visited the district of Soliel. And the streets were devoid of people.

Lucy flips the sign that says 'open' while turning all light sources off. Richi has already left the workshop and refilling the shelves back with their wares. They do not need to clean anything because their boss said it will be done at midnight so they need to leave before twelve o'clock strikes.

"I'm going first, Lucy."

*nods* "Good work for today."

Richi was the first one to leave the blacksmith. For Lucy, she would have joined him because her sister was staying at their house. But she decided to wait inside for a while.

With the blacksmith looking like there were no people inside, five shadows under the pouring rain moved slowly towards the unlit house.

Hours after all light from the blacksmith went out, the group began their move. This set of hooded people were professional in their crafts because the owner of the blacksmith and other residents living close by were not disturbed by their strange actions.

A part of the reason why they went undetected was their patience to wait until it was the schedule to sleep for those people came.

The leader or the member who appears to be the tallest among the rest has gestured to his companions to double-check for any anomalies that can affect their plans.

After a minute or so of glancing around the blacksmith for anything strange, they went back to report to their leader that they found nothing except for the strange gigantic red cloth floating next door. It seems to be made from magic that was harmless so they ignored it.

"These bastards have swords that are being sold for tens of gold. I bet the guy who creates it is a master blacksmith from another city."

"I thought you were an idiot when you suggested stealing from a blacksmith. But with this, making a hundred gold should be easy peasy."

The sound of their snickering was covered by the pattering droplets of rain. Luxury and money splurging were already in their mind even before they saw the goods they are planning to sell.

They found a window they can use for their sneaky entrance. But before they were able to step on the lot, someone came out of the only door.

"Sh*t! You said there was no problem!"

"I did see no one!"

"You can say your excuses later! Remove the witness and make it quick!"

His four minions heard his orders and moved with a burst of speed only trained assassins could have. But only the speed was surprising and nothing else. Their blades have not hitten anything despite the figure of the person was standing still.

"How?!"

"I hate people disturbing our peace… Nova's peace." A cold feminine voice was the last thing those four people heard before becoming unconscious.

It was a clash that cannot really be called a bloodbath. It is more of a one-sided beat down where it ended in just mere seconds.

Their leader saw that and he seems rather smart. Rather than trying to do the same as his companions, he turned away without looking back to try and help his lost members. He realized that he is no match for the hooded figure that suddenly jump towards them.

The reason why he can conclude that is because in the first place, he did not see how the figure struck down his minions. The figure was too fast even for his experienced eyes to follow their movement.

And with that being said, it is also a given the mysterious figure will not have trouble chasing him when he was already a meter too close for escaping.

"Slurp~… Disgusting…"

Five demon imps brought down just like that.

Lucy removed her grown teeth that have turned to fangs before they even clashed. Hint of blood stayed as she licks her lips with an unusual seductive gesture for her. Although after tasting it, she immediately spat it out like she had just drunk spoiled milk.

"I need to dispose them far away from the blacksmith before their consciousness return."

She looked at her victims with disgust but deep within, she was trying her hardest to repress the desire to see more blood. Her desire may be put off because of their disgusting-tasting blood. However, it does not mean her lust cannot be satisfied by looking at it.

Before she succumbs to it once again, wings sprouted from her back ripping some parts of her uniform. A secret no one knows except her family members.

Despite looking like a frail girl, she was easily able to pick up the five unconscious imps and tie them together before flying outside the city. Lucy made sure no one saw this form of hers before throwing her luggage in a forest filled with dangerous beasts at night.

She does not care what happens to them as long as she did not cross the line. Cleaning up Nova Initia from people with bad intentions has become her task her boss does not realize.

Little did she know, many of their intruders will not be able to damage anything in Nova Initia if she just left it to be.
