Chapter 56: Some Things Get Settled

Jovis seemed to be utterly smitten by Aria. He didn't even dodge the bolt of electricity she sent towards him.

Instead, he grinned at her with his charred clothes. "I will win your heart one day, lovely lady," he declared.

Solis and Noir exchanged a wry glance. Then Solis said to Aria, "I apologise for my brother's conduct, Aunt Aria," he said politely. He'd scold Jovis later. What if Aria got really angry with this idiot half brother of his and decided to take Noir to Valhalla and left Solis behind?!

A hint of approval showed on Aria's beautiful face at Solis's quick apology.

Noir was quite relieved. He caressed Solis's face with gentle fingers, trying to soothe his worry that Noir would be taken away to the sacred land of the divine beings without him and he'd be left all alone in this world. How could Noir not see through Solis's anxiety?

Solis smiled at Noir and held him even closer.

I see that there are some gifts to Solis and Noir which have not made an appearance in the story yet - working on it! A big thank you to Gwen_Allen and Nieka123!!
