“I think you are all out of your minds,” Chelsea said and crossed her arms. They’d ruled out hypothermia and she had a slight concussion. Why did they want her to stay?
She lay in the hospital bed indignant. It had been embarrassing enough to be wheeled in here. Then to be told they wanted to keep her overnight. Her head ached, but she could get rid of that. She wanted to be home with her family.
Dr. Kerry Bergman smiled at her. “You are the worst patient.”
“And there’s a hurricane going on and you could probably use the bed for someone else who needs it,” Chelsea retorted. She crossed her ankles and her arms.
Jake walked in at that moment. The doctor turned to him. “Can I get you to talk her into staying?”
Jake looked from her then back to the doctor. He put up his hands in surrender. “I’m not sure I could do that. She’s pretty stubborn.”
